Story

Located on the Chesapeake Bay on Kent Island, Hemingway's has the largest variety of fresh fish and seafood. Our New Executive Chef and his professional culinary team prepare specially developed menus that incorporate the freshest seasonal ingredients, seafood from our local water-men, and seasonal comfort foods that will have an outstanding value for locals.

The location, sitting on the edge of the bay was definitely fabulous. We sat on the patio and watched the beautiful sunset. The view of the water was amazing. The food was delicious however it took a very long time to arrive. The waiter did apologize for the delay before I even started getting impatient, but when other tables got their food before us I started getting impatient. Once we got our food it was pretty good but the waiter took my card and didn't come back for another 15 minutes. He cleared other tables before bringing my card back. A little overpriced and since we don't live in the area we probably won't be back but overall not an horrible experience, but not a spectacular one.

The food is really about average for a decent seafood place, and a bit steep, but.... The view is AWESOME. I go to sit on the patio and get drinks from the outside bar. Sunset view can't be beat. Good service. Not cheap, but worth it!

Ever since the remodel several years ago (maybe a decade by now), just isn't the same. Food, service, atmosphere has declined. Tried to go back a few times since the overhaul but isn't worth it. Better food at better prices elsewhere. Beautiful view though!

We held my son's rehearsal dinner at Hemmingways. It was a wonderful experience from beginning to end. The General Manager and Catering Manager worked closely with us to ensure everything was perfect. On the evening of our event, the staff was one step ahead of us at all times and so eager to please. The setting was so beautiful. To top off this perfect night, the food was delicious.

The view was fabulous! The food (salad and french fries) was good. If you love seafood there is a wide selection. The staff could improve from hostess disposition to server knowledge of ingredients and food allergies.
