Met family in the lobby for conversation and hanging out after picking up lunch downtown. The staff was friendly and the lobby had several seating areas. The furniture and decor was a bit dated, but everything was clean and neat. The location of this hotel is great. Near the Old Port, restaurants and the civic center. There is a parking garage for hotel guests.

Let me start off by saying this place is absolutely amazing. The staff are incredible and the pricing is very competitive and worth it. You walk into the hotel and see a beautiful lobby with a valet and front desk waiting for you. Straight ahead is a restaurant you can dine at or order room service from. I booked my stay for 2/14/2017 and drove 11hours from Maryland to propose to my fiance who lived in Portland. The front desk knew what I was doing and were waiting for me and let me check in early.
I had called prior to arriving and they asked why I was staying at the hotel and I told them and you could hear the excitement in the woman's voice when I told her and she told me to give her a minute and made some notes on my account. I arrived and got 5 star treatment.

The view of the harbor was very nice. I love Portland Harbor. The rooms were very clean. And decorated wonderfully. One issue i had was i closed the bathroom door as i was walking I , there was a cover to something on the ceiling that fell and hit me in the head. It did hurt a little but there wasn't any cuts, i don't think. I didn't see blood and it wasn't that big of a piece of metal

Overall the staff were nice and friendly and the food in the restaurant was quite good. Location and views are also very nice, along with comfy beds. The only detractor is that the pool was unavailable for the entirety of the stay, when that was a large part of why we chose this hotel. The unavailability was not communicated to us upon our checking in, and their reasoning was that it was available at that time. We checked the pool a couple of hours after that and it was closed so I'm not sure if that's accurate. We weren't offered any sort of explanation beyond a cleaning issue occurring and weren't offered any sort of compensation for the lack of the amenity beyond a $10 dollar refund (a night of parking). Totally understand that there's things out of their control, but again the communication could have been better and a means of compensating people for that type of inconvenience would be recommended, as some folks like myself plan on the use of the amenities we're paying full price for. I would recommend this location to others if the pool isn't important to them or if they check its availability in advance.

The best hotel I've stayed in in a while! The king bedroom was simple, yet very accommodating. The bed felt just right, and the sheets felt as though it was at least a 1800 thread count. The front reception lady was very helpful and all smiles. I have created a reminder in my calendar to book with this hotel at the same time next year!
