Dr.Williams has been my doctor for years. I have never had any negative experiences there. Although, in recent months, I have heard from others that the work place culture/office dynamic has changed tremendously..... 2-23-18 Another great experience from Dr. Williams. He was able to address all of my medical issues that I currently have. He actually listens, cares, and, makes sure he is "team patient". Also, I still have yet to have a negative experience at this location. However, I did have a negative experience at the Smithfield location on a Sunday, during the acute care clinic hours.

When I moved from out of state last year I was looking for a Dr. with extended hours. I found Horizon Family Medical in Clayton and decided to try it out. I was pleased with the results when I took my teenage son to be seen, they took him within a day and gave him a sports physical. The second time we went, I was still very happy with the Dr. and I called my insurance company to change my primary care Dr. to the same one that my son has. I also changed it on his brother’s card (he had the same Dr. office as me). My other son called today asking for an appointment, because he went to the minute clinic (super close to his job) and was diagnosed with strep and the flu. It’s been 3 weeks and his throat is still bothering him and he has a cough. The office would not see him today saying that he is a new patient. They won’t see him till mid-February. It’s January 23rd and he just explained that he is still not feeling well. It wasn’t good enough that his brother has already been seen there 2ce. I called up asking to speak with the office manager at 11:45am. He would not get on the phone, he had his employee at the front desk ask what it was regarding. I told her. She said to hold on, when she came back to the phone she told me that he would call me back later in the day, took my phone number and hung up. I pay $500 a month on insurance to be told that my son can’t go in when he’s sick and that an office manager is going to call me back and never did. Dr’s offices work for their patients, not the other way around. I will be removing Horizon Family Medical in Clayton from 3 insurance cards and my son will no longer be going to that office. Disgraceful!

Horrible doctor's office we took our son here for a circumcision back in May 2017 paid $200 for the procedure two months later got a bill in the mail for $740 stating we never paid called in about the matter the woman on the phone told me to email the receipt then get another notice in the mail a month later saying the same thing so I called the number again the lady said email the receipt again now here it is January of 2018. A unknown piece of mail delivery saying that the amount will be sent to a collection agency in 14 days for failure to remit payment... I'm confused and highly upset this company is unorganized and the billing department obviously needs proper training because this is ridiculous.

This place is honestly such a disappointment. My husband and I adore our sons doctor. His friendly, he listens, his understanding and delivers delicate news well! - His nurse on the other hand is rude, ignorant, treats you like you're literally ruining her day by being there, makes decisions behind the doctors back and rarely returns your calls when I have a questions about my sons health! If she does call you back she's completely useless!! The front desk are rude and incompetent! They tell you one thing on the phone and another when you show up. They took down his insurance information wrong and failed to correct it twice meaning I was recieving bills in the post with out of pocket charges and being told on the phone that his insurance wasn't accepting the bills and I would have to talk to my insurance. Baring in mind they were copying his information from the insurance card held in their hand! I would understand more if it was miscommunication but it's not my fault you can't read and work on a front desk!! If his doctor moved practice I would stay using him but unfortunately the practice itself I just can't handle the stress anymore and am finding him a new pediatrician.
