First time consumer. Will not return. The store is clean and seemingly well organized. I brought 1 pair of shoes that needed to be glued to the soles. It was a pleasant interaction when dropping them off. The employee in the front seemed very sure that this was a simple proceed. And charged $30 for the repair. Upon my return to pick up my shoes, I noticed that one shoe had been glued crooked. I mentioned it to the employee at the front desk (the same person that I dropped my shoes off with) and he proceeded to say that the shoes can’t be perfect. I stated that I was not looking for perfection but that the shoe looked crooked to the naked eye. He proceeded to say that the shoe can’t be perfect. In addition to that, the other shoe had pleated fabric and the pleated fabric had an area glued with the fabric going in the opposite direction of the remaining fabric on the shoe. The shoe was not like that prior to the repair at the Shoe Hospital. The employee stated that the shoe could not be repaired perfect and that he told me that it would be a difficult repair and that the repairman did the best that he could. He also stated that the only person that could make the shoe perfect was the person who made it in the first place and that particular machine. I proceeded to state as I had previously, that I was not looking for perfection and that he had not disclosed to me that the repair would have any difficulties. Had he disclosed this information I would have set my expectations accordingly. Furthermore, the employee had not interest, concern or understanding regarding the issue until another employee walked to the front counter. I proceeded to tell him that I did not want to continue going back and forth with him because he had an excuse for everything that I stated was an issue with the repair and thank you for the services. He only, then, started to act concerned and offered to fix the shoe but as I stated to him, at that point, I did not trust him or anyone else in the store with my property and I would not allow anyone in the store to “repair” my shoes for a second time. He asked several times at that point to allow the repair but I stated that I no longer trusted the company and since he stated previously that he told me it would be a difficult repair, when in fact he did not, I knew that the trust factor was gone between the company and I. I thanked him and the other gentlemen for their services and walked out extremely unsatisfied. I will not return. As a matter of fact, I plan to find another shoe repair to fix what Shoe Hospital didn’t do correctly. I would not have written a review had I not received an email asking for a review.

Something seems to be missing...I find it difficult, however, to put my finger on it. The Houston Shoe Hospital gets the job done, period, but that's where the buck stops. The employees are nice, but they do not go the extra mile. We will start with the discount that is offered via email. First off, $5 only covers what they would charge you in taxes. It doesn't really feel like I'm saving anything. Secondly, the email is hit or miss. Sometimes I get them, sometimes I don't. Moving on to their level of work: it is amazing. I fall in love with my shoes every time I get them back, but then there are times like the following example: I was notified that my shoes were ready for pick up. I then drive up to the store only to find out that the work is incomplete. On one occasion, I was missing heel savers. And, just today, after two weeks of waiting, I go to pick up my shoes, but they have no sole protectors. They are consistently inconsistent, if that makes sense. A simple QA inspection prior to emailing or calling the customer is simple enough to do. It just isn't happening. I drop of my shoes here religiously. A rewards program would be nice. I just don't feel like my business is appreciated and it would not be missed if I went elsewhere. **update** It happened again. Was told to return Friday to pick up my shoes and they were nowhere to be found. The apologetic gentleman at the front could not even locate the box. He had to check on his tablet and that's when he discovered that my shoes weren't even at the store.

First off, no prices are listed. They quote you whatever price they can think of. Secondly, they're liars. When I brought my shoes in, the guy told me it would be $45 to replace 2 layers on the base of my shoes including the soles. All they did was glue the existing soles together. I paid $45 for them to GLUE my shoes together! I bought it to man's attention and he says, " I told you it would be $45 to glue it, remember?" It sounded believable but it was a bold face lie! I know exactly what he said! This place is swindling unsuspecting people out of their money. I used to come here years ago but now they're overcharging people for simple repairs. I could've bought my own glue and glued my own shoes. I will never go back there again!

Amazing!!!!! I have a pair of Cole Haan oxfords that I love! They are 10 years old and have been worn with much love. They are two toned cognacs and cream. Living in New York they got really dirty. I took them to one of the best shoe repair in New York and they said they couldn’t do anything and to throw them away. I just couldn’t do it. I moved to Houston in August and saw my apartment was across the street from the “Shoe Hospital” so I thought would try again to see if they could help my favorite shoes....they look SO FABULOUS! I was shocked! I will trust no one else ever to do my shoes but the Houston Shoe Hospital...and they staff was lovely. Thanks guys!

I just resoled my Cole Haan wingtips and they look and feel brand new. The new phone and email notification system is awesome too, excellent service every time. It's really amazing to read some of these negative reviews about service/quality/integrity and see the consistent feedback from management and owners in an effort to improve the customer experience.
