I have been seeking excellence in shoe repair. I've found it in Shoe Savers. 
I gave them a scratched, scuffed and dulled black patent pair and they were returned to me in darn near original glory. Worth every single penny!
And the owner was entirely professional and pleasant.

I've used this gentleman for years and wouldn't trust my boots to any other.  His work is flawless and expert.  You won't be disappointed.

I noticed all negative reviews relate to the fact that the owner is not friendly.  True, he is not the all smiles, chatty type.  But he is the only guy in Houston I would trust with my shoes, and I tried many.  And unlike all other places that I tried, the owner will do the work himself.  So if a warm and fuzzy feeling is what you want, but don't care much about the quality of the repair job, look elsewhere.  But if you expect consistently high quality workmanship, he delivers like no one else in the area.  He is not cheap, but why would he be.
