I have lived in HB most of my 58 years. In the last several years I have seen an improvement in the way Police officers interact with the public. I am also impress with the respect and concern shown to the homeless. Thank you for the positive changes especially in a time when the police and residents need to find mutual respect for those that live here and for those that are employed to care for this city.

Needed help with a drunk guy trying to get into the house, he was confused and non-responsive to me. Dispatch was very direct and blunt, however very efficient. Two officers arrived within 3 minutes and took control, helped him find his ID, then confirmed with me if I recongized him. For whatever reason he was in the wrong neighborhood, and they took him to sober up. Thank you, and good job!

To all the utter imbeciles on here posting about that shooting a month ago: The 27 year old (not a kid) had savagely beat to death an old man in his 80s just days prior in Huntington Beach. What a real angel! Then he goes on to assault and attack a police officer, punching him in the face and fighting him, and then grabbed something from his belt without he officer knowing it (an ammunition clip). He then stands up and points the black, metallic elongated clip at the officer. Totally doesn't look like a gun right? The cop shoots him because anybody in their right mind would not stand there several moments and wait to see if something like that is or isn't a gun. If you would wait, you'd be dead in many cases. Bottom line: Anybody who thinks the officer acted wrong is a total moron. You are beyond ignorant. God bless the HBPD for protecting us, and God help us if the IDIOTS on this google comment section ever have any more power than a keyboard.

Visiting California for the first time and was pulled over by Huntington Beach cop for talking on cellphone. Being from a state where it’s not illegal I assumed the same here. Would be nice if out of state visitors would be issued a warning. But who am I kidding, it’s always about the money!! I will not be good advertisement for this state. We treat people much kinder in the South !
