We had a homeless river person sleeping on our front lawn this morning. Thought at first it was probably a gang banger on drugs.  I asked him who he was and why he was there, but he just turned over and went back to sleep.  We called the police and they came promptly.  First one officer  arrived who did all of the vetting.  He could not have been more professional and courteous to this young man.  He knew exactly what to do and did it without incident.  Then a back up officer arrived.  They were both very  professional and so pleasant.   If these two officers are an example of our Police Department, well,  Orange has  excellent police officers!!    Wish I had gotten their names to thank them publically.  
   I asked my husband if he got the names of the officers and he said the first officer to arrive was Roche or something similar.  He did not get the name of the second officer.  Kudos to both of them!

One of these worst PD's in the country. Employing officer's that do not understand the constitution, know basic laws, and do nothing but escilate situations when they encounter the public is not my idea of what policing should be. Fail, fail, and fail.

Why is it that the POLICE OFFICERS ARE NOT AWARE OF THE LAW? I had an officer leave me a message where he spoke so fast that I was unable to get his name - telling that a tenant at a sober facility had a right to stay  there even though they were doing drugs at this facility. Any time a tenant is doing doing drugs at a sober living the owner has the right to evict them immediately or we can lose our license. The police officer should also be aware of the fact that this people are threatening the owner of all kinds of accusations. The law is VERY clear about the use of drugs that can affect the other residents in that facility and we have very right to ask them to leave immediately as long as we give them 3 referents to other sober living homes. I refuse to take the risk of losing my license over this matter and have had to move the other residents out of there as they are at a risk of relapsing after having had a 30 day treatment and and intense therapy to stay sober. I do hope your department is well educated on this matter.

I am recovering from brain surgery and have an identity theft guy calling me daily I asked the desk sargent to send an officer over so I could discuss in person since that is easier for me, they REFUSED, I pay city taxes. Not right. If I could have put zero stars I would have.  People if you read about me dead in my home please advocate for me.
Oh full disclosure My husband had to go down to the police office and they were positive with him, so I guess I will have to be OK with that, yet I have had no face time.

They have always been very professional and courteous every time they've been needed. Thank goodness I've never needed them for myself but I've seen some pretty sickening things going on, esp over on Tustin & Meats right by where I work there's a lot of homeless with untreated mental illness. Most of them a serious danger to themselves or others. It's sad but seems like City of Orange Police is pretty used to it, they handle everything very well. (Update: I work over by The Circle they still handle business really well; they rely heavily on the community for support especially with Chapman University, the train station, and the three hospitals and shopping malls in and around the city)
