What a lovely little restaurant with great comfort food. I brought my family after visiting nearby Allegheny General hospital which was only a few blocks away. We had a wonderful little feast with everyone sharing a bit of their entrees. I ordered the Magyar Schnitzel which was delicious. It was lightly breaded and the mushroom sauce and dumplings were such a treat. Overall, it is worth a stop if you are craving a locally prepared comfort meal.
We stumbled upon a quaint, family-owned Hungarian restaurant in Pittsburgh that served us an authentic home cooked meal. The warm hospitality of the owners made us feel right at home. We relished every bite of our chicken paprikas, homemade noodles, Gypsy pork, fried potatoes, pickled red cabbage salad, and fried garlic bread with cheese. Despite our initial reservations about Pissburg, we would gladly return just to dine at this hidden gem again. Thank You
Very good experience . Staff was nice & we really enjoyed the food. We had potato cake, stuffed chicken with potato & goulash. All the dishes were good & price was reasonable for USA. Kid-friendliness: They have at least 1 high chair
We had the creamy onion soup and it is really good and they must have starter. We also had the potato pancake which was really good as well. We had the cheese and butter stuffed chicken breast can the chicken schnitzel with the mushroom sauce both were great. Also got a Walnut torte desert but I also did not get to eat that but heard it was great
Excellent food, worth a visit! My family recommends the Huszar appetizer platter. The meat, cheese, veggies, fruit and bread were delicious. The sweet kraut on the Hungarian kielbasa was so good. The homemade dumplings with beef tips and gravy was also yummy.Food: 5/5
Very yummy Hungarian food. The goulash is very good and the meat was cooked perfectly. I definitely recommend the fried bread also. Delicious. The couple that own the restaurant are very nice and willing to recommend what to try if you have never had Hungarian food before. Definitely get dessert!Food: 5/5
Goulash and chicken paprikas are over the top. The desert selection is also nice, the hazelnut cake is really nice and unusual.Food: 5/5
I had a delicious meal here and have to come back sometime for more. The food was authentic and reminds me of the food my European family makes. There was a large dessert selection and what we had was great.Food: 5/5
This place is amazing! The food is prepared by a Hungarian chef and served by a Hungarian pastry chef. You are greeted by the owner who will tell you all about her Hungarian parents. Such great atmosphere!Food: 5/5
YUM. great food in a neighborhood hangout. Had the Bakonyi steak. Reviews are spot on.
