The atmosphere in Social House 7 is extremely cool, very unique. Wait staff was also great. The food was also delicious. Probably some of the best sushi I’ve ever had and the noodles were so good. The only real disappointment was one of the most average old fashions I’ve ever had for $17. If it was $9, it wouldn’t even be part of this review and it would be a 5 star review. But for $17, you better be doing that well, especially when the prices aren’t listed on the drinks menu.
The atmosphere was excellent. The place is beautiful and the service was prompt. The food was just not what I was expecting. I expected to be hit with massive flavor bombs and it just did not happen. It was not bad at all it just wasn't very memorable. The food was lacking in flavor and the portions are rather small. The Bi Bim Bap had two very small strips of Wagyu that were delicious, the rest I could have lived without. The short ribs yaki was good but also a bit bland and the meat was sparse. The Tonkotsu noodles were slightly underdone and the portion was smaller than expected but otherwise ok. The sushi was really good and average sized. The desserts sounded delightful so we tried every one. The fortune cookie was ok. The description says it is filled with mousse and there were only two small dollops. The crème brûlèe was very bland. The tuxedo cake was really good but not extravagant by any means. Parking: It's right in the city. It's hard to find parking unless you go to a garage. Most of the garages are not tall vehicle friendly.
Great Space for Eating and Meeting. I stopped into Social House Seven for drinks and food with business colleagues during a recent visit to Pittsburgh. We had all just flown in and checked into our hotels and were looking for a good place to eat. Our of our group had been here before and recommended the place. The restaurant has amazing interior designs, high-quality Robata grilled meats, and we shared some savoury appetizers, and I had one of the house Ramens, the Tonkotsu Ramen for my main course. It was good evening with great food and I would eat here again the next time I'm in Pittsburgh.
Stopped in for a drink after an event. Nice place. Good selection of alcohol, and overhead doors can be opened to give seating access to fresh air looking outside
We love this place! In particular, David manager always makes a point to greet us and make us feel welcome. Plus his recommendations for Sake Zipang, the Wine list and food are always spot on! Tonight the cocktail menu did not disappoint! So, glad the Sake Sangria is back. We enjoyed the Prawn Robata with Squid Salad! We even met the chef. Fantastic dining experienc all the way around! We look forward to going back!
This is the restaurant we choose for like our Valentine's dinner. Wow! We were blown away! Everything was top notch. This is true dining experience. It was intimate but lively, I personally have never experienced anything like it! The staff was so passionate about what they were doing, every single one of them sincerely cared that you were satisfied and enjoying your experience! Our server was Sam she was amazing! I would absolutely request to have her the next time we visit!
First of all, both the service and the overall feel of the place were great, and we loved it. While we went for restaurant week, most of the restaurant week menu was sold out when we got there. We ended up ordering off of the regular menu. The sushi roll was the highlight of the meal. Our two hot entrees and appetizer were good, but honestly aside from the different proteins, they were very similar. This would be less of a problem if the goal of the restaurant wasn't to get a bunch of plates to share. I would have liked a more interesting varieties of flavor, but aside from the cold appetizer and sushi, it was fairly one dimensional. Portion sizes were also smaller than expected. The food was still good, but I would likely order more sushi if I were to return.
Beautiful atmosphere. Well done decor. Came here before doing to Eleven down the street for dinner. Got an expresso martini with vanilla vodka, suggestion from bartender. Got the spring rolls and edamame. The edamame had ranch dust, very yummy. The spring rolls were small enough for a food appetizer. Bathrooms were clean. Only suggestion, the margarita was huge. Too big. Served in a pint glass, needs to be served in a rocks glass.
This place is very cool and the food is absolutely delicious! I had the tonkotsu ramen and my wife had the hamchi crudo. We split a flight of sake and a spicy tuna roll. All of it was top notch. The sushi tasted super fresh. The pork in the ramen was unmatched. It was crispy yet tender. My wife describes it as "12/10" haha. Would highly suggest visiting.
There were 3 of us that shared several dishes. The food was amazing. It was clear that our server was busy but she checked in on us frequently and was always friendly. Another team member, I'm guessing a manager or owner, also made the rounds throughout dinner to make sure we were doing well. He was also very nice and upbeat. Overall great service and food, would definitely go again!
