Great place. Great owner. Nothing fancy there, but that seems to go with the best. I own a 2012 Chevy Sonic. It's a GM car and GM cars have this horrible rep for the keys getting stuck in the ignition. This is a horror show. You have to leave the key in until it finally releases, which can take anywhere from a minute to 6 hours, depending on the "mood" of the car. Seriously. If you forget to go back outside and take the key out after it has finally released, the battery gets run down. You go outside the next morning to the nightmare of a dead car. The first time this happened I'd owned the car for about a year and a half. I took it to the Chevy dealer and they told me it was a problem in the shifter mechanism. They charged me over $300 to put in a whole new shifter component, and it was guaranteed (new) for only 15,000 miles. Two years later the key was sticking again. I didn't want to pay another $300 so I just lived with it for a while. What a nerve-wracking situation. Always having to remember to go back outside to see if the key had released. When I forgot to, the battery died. I used up a year's supply of Triple A service calls in just a few months because of all the jump starts I needed. I also had to worry about the car getting stolen whenever the key was stuck. I got sick of all this so I started considering getting it fixed again, maybe by a cheaper garage than the dealer. I went to Hyannis Brake and Auto, and owner charged me $49 to fix the problem. He also showed me this little covered slot thing at the top right side of the shifter housing. He said that if the key got stuck again, I should get the cover off the slot and push down on the button inside, and that would release the key. It's been months and I haven't had to do that. Now why didn't the Chevy dealership know to tell me about that little slot thing????????? And why did they charge me $300??????????? Take your car to Hyannis B & A. This guy really knows what to do and he teaches you, and doesn't rob you.
