Dr. Gardner did cataract surgery on my left eye several years ago. I suffered no complications and healed rapidly. I was 67 at the time. I was given an IV sedative/analgesic but remained awake. It is odd to have one's eye operated on while conscious, but the sedative made me not care.
I found the clinic nicely furnished and comfortable, the staff courteous and informed, and the overall experience more than satisfactory. 
That is why I am going to the same eye surgeon at the same clinic to have my other eye done.
As a follow up, I would say that the consulting doctor, not the surgeon, could be better at telling the patient what his observations and measurements mean. He rattled them off to the assistant as if I were not there. I had to stop him and ask what they meant. He did explain once I asked him.

Dr. Gardener and staff were amazing. I was pretty nervous about my eye sugery and they went out of their way to make me feel comfortable.
