Excellent guides, meals are fantastic and new friends on the most amazing ride down the middle fork. The scenery changes as you flow down the river, and the camp grounds are unique and awesome, with some hot water soaks, fill up canteen with fresh water, and best of all ride down close to 100 rapids. IRJ are definitely awesome at what they do and the love they have for the river reflects this.

This was one of the most amazing trips of my life, and I have taken many. The physical beauty and serenity of the Middle fork is breathtaking, but for me having such professional, enthusiastic guides made the trip so very enjoyable. Everyone should do this in their lifetime.

I had high expectations for this trip....as a matter of fact, I was accused by some of "over-hyping" how good it would be....and then the IRJ crew met, exceeded and then blew my expectations out of the water . It is hard to put into words how awesome the River is and how awesome the IRJ crew is. I would give them 6...7...10 stars if I could Obviously, the Salmon River is awesome no matter who takes you down and all of the companies have very high reviews -- but there was one selling points for me that had us go with IRJ. I was booking a large group (22; 11 adults and our kids) and so I shopped around all of the companies. When the owner of IRJ called me -- he told me that the reason to book with IRJ is that (and I am quoting): " Our guides are clean cut, college educated and all of them are exceptional role models for your children." This was exactly the case. The guides were fantastic on and off the water and all of the guides were beloved by our kids (ages 8-15). Also, I have been fly fishing on 6 guided trips in the past (all in Utah on the Provo, Weber and Green Rivers)...and I learned more about fly fishing in 15 minutes with the IRJ guides (huge shout out to Drew) than I did in all the prior trips combined! And one last thing. I hate to admit this with my name attached to this review....but I was tearing up when writing it....the trip was that amazing....

Great Trip! The guides treated us like we were the most important people in the world. Mary was very professional and organized, and responded to e-mail questions right away. Meals were outstanding. Good equipment, boats, kayaks, tents, sleeping bags, etc. For those who like to fish, the guides really worked hard to give you a good experience. Even when sections of the river were "blown out" from heavy rains, they found clear tributaries with good fishing. We went in early July, and the water levels were dropping, but we left from Dagger Falls, as some of the other companies flew their guests to Indian Creek, which shortened their trip by about 20 miles. A Salmon, Idaho family run operation, with some of the best and most experienced people on the river. Can't be beat!

Idaho River Journeys far exceeded our expectations. Mary was incredibly helpful in lining up our trip and giving us some heads up on transportation and lodging. Friendly, eager-to-help guides with expert level guiding and river experience. All the gear appears to be brand new and top of the line. Everything was great, but the food was absolutely outstanding! Truly gourmet meals were a welcome end to great days on the river. The Middle Fork is definitely a river we will be on again, and it will definitely be with Idaho River Journeys!
