Customer service does not exist at this location. If you are getting more than one piece of furniture, and/or you are getting multiple large pieces that they have to pick for you, and you will retrieve from the furniture pick up area, then you will need to bring at least one additional person along with you. The workers in FURNITURE PICKUP ARE NOT ABLE TO HELP YOU GET YOUR FURNITURE PIECES TO THE LOADING AREA !!!! We had 2 carts of furniture that we had picked ourselves, then, we were expected to wheel the 3 additional carts from furniture pickup down to loading, too. Really??!! After spending several thousands of dollars in this store, they couldn't assist us from one floor to the next?!! What would it cost them? $2 or $3? SUPPOSEDLY, they have people to assist AT the loading area. During the hour my husband and I were loading our truck, we NEVER SAW ANY IKEA employees who were there to assist us or any of the other customers. Every employee who walked by us did so briskly while facing the wall away from us! I guess they thought that if they didn't look at us, then we could not see them. The customer service staff at this location could use some BASIC customer service training. Don't waste your time at this IKEA store. The one positive thing that I have to say is that the multi-functional furniture is perfect for our daughter's new studio apartment.

At the start of your trek, be sure to have your best walking shoes and a good water bottle. You will got lost, at least twice. Even with a handy map. This store has enough things that you never knew you needed. You will always overspend. But with these prices and quality, you won't hate yourself. There's usually a decent amount of seating if you get too tired. But whatever happens you can always stop for lunch. GREAT CAFE. And they even sell Swiss chocolate at the check out. After I rest up, I'm going back for leg day. May the odds be ever in your favor.

Nice place but just feel like I’m walking through a maze. Staff is extremely nice and everything is organized but it’s exhausting.. can’t be in there long without other customers walking up behind you. To get the idea of what I mean think BestBuy on Black Friday. Hard to decide on home furnishings when you feel like you’re in line while you’re shopping. I know everyone gives them great remarks and I wouldn’t say they’re bad, it’s just the shopping experience itself. Maybe you’ll like it?

Having shopped in a lot of IKEA stores, Kansas' is one of my favorites. The standard IKEA issues apply (long lines at peak times, stock mismathces, hard to find associates on occasion), but overall, this store is cleaner and friendlier than the other 3 I've frequented in the past (which were in Florida). The Merriam store is clean, well stocked (even popular items are usually back within a week) and the staff has always been great in my experience. We've purchased a kitchen here, and the experience was fantastic, and in many return trips to deal with returning parts or getting weird cabinet pieces, the manager that works in the returns/customer service area has always been very helpful and gone out of his way to make sure we're taken care of. Can't ask for much more than that from a retail giant.

Today is my very first time visiting IKEA and I must to be frankly with everyone here. I love everything about the place, the selection of items, the prices, the convenience of the locations of items and most of all the check out is amazing. In my opinion I think this place is must see. Over all excellent place! !!
