Story

Step inside Il Fornaio and take a culinary journey through Italy. Early mornings bring rustic, crisp crusted bread hot from the oven accompanied by the scent of fresh brewed espresso. During lunch and dinner hours, pastas and flavorful sauces simmer while meats and vegetables roast over hot coals. Bottles of wine from small, regional wineries are uncorked to complement the dishes, which have been crafted in the custom of Italy's chefs, bakers and homemakers.

In the tradition of Italy's trattorias, the sights, sounds and aromas of authentic Italian cuisine are recreated fresh everyday at Il Fornaio Cucina Italiana.

Service was a bit lacking... Waited for water and bread for a while, but they were very polite at least. And wow the food was really great! I had this mushroom sausage lasagna that was unlike any I'd had before. Well worth the wait!

Beautiful building design, wonderful and friendly staff and super good food. We came here for our anniversary and we were treated with top notch service even greeted by the manager as he heard of it being our anniversary and he treated us to dessert. Big thanks to Sven and Steve.

This is clearly a chain restaurant that plays on the Italian theme, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. I visited with some colleagues and we were greeted and seated immediately upon entering the restaurant. The staff that took care of us really cared and came back often enough to refill our water glasses and take care of our food needs. The food itself is very rich and tasty. Even with one dish, we all left very full, even stuffed! Venue is pleasant with high ceilings and good views of the streets around it.

Came here on a Tuesday night for an employee dinner. The appetizers came quickly. My grilled mixed seafood entree was superb and my wine glass was never empty. The service was spectacular. Another plus is the convenient parking garage across the street. The parking was not free but there were ample spaces and I only paid 50 cents.

"Up market" in price AND attitude but we've had food as tasty ( though not as pretty.. that's what we pay for I guess) and just as good service for less at quite a few other area restaurants. We don't think I'll Fornaio rates more than 3 stars.
