Story

We believe there should be a conscious connection between the one who eats the food and the source of that sustenance. Tender Greens develops partnerships with small local farmers, ranchers, artisans, boutique wineries, breweries and coffee roasters to provide the best quality ingredients and products for its guests. Scarborough Farms provides the restaurants with fresh-picked produce daily in reusable eco-friendly containers.

We are regulars here in downtown Walnut Creek. Ask for the harvest salad with salt and pepper chicken. The salad is always different depending on what is freshest at the moment. Always delicious. The staff are friendly and the service is effecient. You'll love Tender Greens.

I love this place. The food is really good and filling and it's not ridiculously expensive like most places in the area. The meals are well balanced with protein, vegetables, and grains. It would be five stars, but they no longer accept cash which is a downgrade in my opinion. But everything else is fantastic!

The food is great but the staff isn't that friendly. Covered in gang tatts and an attitude to match. If I wanted my food cooked by convicts, I'd eat at San Quinton. Unprofessional. *Added after initial review above* I returned several months later and found the staff to be much more personable. Didn't see the kid with gun tattood to his neck and enjoyed the food. I want to love this place because the food is great.

Come here very often. A bit on the upper average end of price but definitely worth it. The food here is great and we've never had anything bad here. It's confusing as to whether you should tip or not, since you pay before eating, but that's not too bad. Will definitely be returning for the foreseeable future.

Used to be a go-to of mine when living in San Diego. After moving to the east bay, I was happy to see a location pop up in Berkeley and Walnut Creek. Berkeley has held up well since opening. Walnut Creek has been underwhelming to the point my wife and I will never return here. Service has never been impressive. In SD and Berkeley, staff will walk the floor and periodically check on customers. Walnut Creek ... brings your food and busses tables. Salads are watery, and today, after mentioning not being served bread, we were left waiting (still waiting to this day and moment) for our bread pieces. It's hard to write this review because when Tender Greens has their stuff together, it is an enjoyable experience. Walnut Creek - get your stuff together. If the other locations can do it, what's the excuse?
