Went there with my family and spent $40 for a really quick visit that lasted less than 1/2 hour. Most of their activities were shut down: Baxter the robot was "sleeping", the sand section was all fenced and there were no more planets in the upper floor. My son wanted to use the water paints and the brushes so he got them from the counter (they were inside a transparent container). He got yelled at because apparently these paint bottles were supposed to be used for a workshop. The wildlife section had a big parrot, that we were not supposed to speak and make gestures at, because he would get nervous. This place looks like is more focused in daycare services. Will not spend more dollars to this place.

I took my son (1 1/2 year old) here for the Happy Hearts event. My son went into the room with the blue blocks. He was excited to play with them. There was a activity set up in there. There was not one sign posted that the blocks weren’t allowed to be touched. The staff member in there rudely told me that they aren’t allowed to be played with. I apologized and went to get my son who continued to try and play. She than huffed at me and told me that there is a fragile activity set up and they aren’t allowed to be played with. For one why have toys out if children can’t use them. And two the women doesn’t need to be so rude about it. He is 1 1/12 years old. He doesn’t understand why they have toys out for no playing. Never going back here. This place was awful. Better off doing the drive to Middletown and going to Kid City.

This children's museum has been my son's favorite forever. He is now five and a half and can still easily stay five plus hours there. There is so much to do and every time he goes he is entertained and learning with the new things they put out. My son loves arts and crafts and their arts space is amazing. This museum is so much better than kidcity (which is packed, dirty, and too young for older kids) or the science center which charges too much. This museum has a cute, small cafe where you can buy something or bring something in and eat. By far my favorite children's musuem in central CT. The staff is also always wonderful and helpful.

Great learning environment with lots of hands on activities for young children! The educators are super helpful and very engaged with the children, offering workshops and activities for the visitors (animal encounters in the wildlife studio are always a hit, as are art lessons in the art studio!). My boys love the Bright Logic interactive floor, blue block room, water studio and art studio. They offer special events frequently, and bring in lots of performers . We loved Ed Pop's Magic show, Family Zumba and Kids Tai Chi and Yoga. Definitely check it out! 😊
