The Children's Museum is okay, but unfortunately it's pretty expensive. Even with a library pass it was $20 for admission for my 4-year-old and myself along with a planetarium show. We had an enjoyable afternoon and my daughter especially loved the Lego cars on the bottom floor and the color exhibit, but with so many great (and less expensive) places for young kids in the area, I doubt we will return. The Roaring Brook Nature Center is owned by the same organization and is one of our favorite places to visit on a nice day. It's also much more affordable!

This museum is surprisingly large and has quite a few unique exhibits. Both my 8 yo & my 11yo found lots of opportunities to be interested; they gravitate towards science activities. We easily spent 3 hours here. Because there were not a lot of patrons, it was relaxing for me as an adult. It was a cool-ish day so the butterflies weren't active. The dinosaur exhibit was new, I think, but not that interesting. My favorites were the engineering space and the color space. Kids loved the animals and all the hands-on interaction. The museum could use a bit of a face-lift (it has a 70's feel) and a food truck in the parking lot as there is no cafe, but there is a break room with vending machines. Overall, it's clean and interesting and worth a visit if you're looking for something to do with younger kids. If you live in the area, a membership is worth it for 2- 6 year olds.

It has a lot of interesting things to be seen and the staff is very helpful and friendly. However it is dated and would benefit from a revamp.

Tons of activities for children of all ages. The memberships are amazingly affordable and I bring my 10 month old daughter there often to look at the animals and play. Even at 10 months old (not walking yet) we still spend at least 2 hours going through everything. Older kids could easily make a day of all the activities. The planetarium shows are a little hit or miss. I saw one about a polar bear that was just still pictures and a story, which was probably the saddest misuse of a planetarium setup that I've ever encountered (seriously, management: I love you guys but that polar bear video needs to go....). That said, I've taken in other planetarium shows there, like the holiday special, that were really good. But this place is so awesome overall it's still a 5 star experience for what you're paying. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable when it comes to the animals and are happy to answer questions. You can tell the animals are well cared for and they let many of them run around after hours so they're not cooped up all day. Overall, it's so worth the money. I'll continue to get a membership annually because it's the best "cooped up on a rainy day" activity for kids.

I haven't been here since I was a kid and it seems they haven't updated much. I took my son expecting him to love it as much as I did and besides the animals and the whale blowing water out he didn't care for any of the things. The way it's described online is not what is presented in the exhibits. The mos fun my son had eas liiking at the animals and we ciuld have webt to the zoo for that and its WAY cheaper there. This was way too expensive for what is offered.
