Takes advantage of soldiers. Told me I wouldn't pay utilities and when I arrived they said only water is free   . Well obviously water is the cheapest utility and electricity is expensive in a Georgia summer. Knew I was bringing a pet and didn't tell me until signing the papers that there is a $400 plus $30 a month pet fee. Ended up paying about $1700 on the first day. A place like this is geared towards soldiers, specifically IBOLC and ABOLC, and it's disgusting to see them try to get money out of them that way. The apartments are also the quality of a 1 star hotel. Bed is literally plastic. Some of the staff is really nice and others are very rude and shrill. Would recommend staying in lofts downtown or on base for half the price.

Read. Rangers...it's simple. Don't live here.This place is convenient because they're "close" to post, but the sq. ft to price ratio is expensive. You can get a sick apartment further away from post that will take you the same amount of time to get to work as it will take you living here. The speed limits on that side of post are 15mph...do yourself a favor and avoid the school zone speeding tickets/slow gate speeds/MP patrols.Other apartments in the area cost less for more room, a garage, car care center, excellent maintenance, and apartment setups.Beds here suck. A ton. Carpets are cheap. Cabinets are super cheap. Pest control sucks. Killed plenty of spiders....The staff will try and sucker folks as well. Gate key. Ugly checkout chick at the counter tried to swipe my access card after I signed so she could charge me for "losing" it. That piece of cardboard with a magnet is expensive. Maintenance does ok believe it or not....BUT...*Apartment above mine...tub was overflowing and my vents started leaking from the roof. Walls are paper thin. Parking sucks.I have a show car. Cop gave me a ticket because I didn't want to put their lame sticker on my car's windshield.  Posted Jan 2013. USMA listen to my warning.

All the staff members here are extremely helpful. They will do their absolute best to accommodate your needs, especially if you're connected to the military. Printing, scanning, receiving packages, and utilizing the gym facility are some of the few benefits of living in this apartment complex.

Independence Place is/was an excellent choice for myself and people who want to be close to Ft Benning/Columbus without actually living in it. The staff goes above and beyond the call in making sure they get to know their clients. The rooms are good for the price. The wifi is strong and reliable in the rooms. The pond/lake in the back doesn't seem to have much fish though.

All in all. I would lease through them again in a heartbeat.

I've really enjoyed my stay here at IP for the last couple of months.  I find the staff who works here to be quite helpful.  I've dealt a lot Bryan and he is always happy to answer my questions.  The only maintenance need I've had was a dead battery in my door lock (they have special electrical locks on the doors) and they fixed it the same day I reported it.  One other thing I like is the gym here.  Though it's not that big, when I usually go in there there's no more than 3 people.  Lastly, having 24 hr access to the club house was great when I had to work on late night projects.  My group and I were all able to congregate together in there and work on them.  Overall, no major complaints with IP.
