About

Indian Head Resort is a New England Resort centrally located in the heart of the White Mountains

Story

Located at the entrance of the Franconia Notch Parkway, the Indian Head Resort (named for the rock profile that is visible from the resort's grounds) has provided year-round vacations for generations of travelers. Here you can enjoy the mountain beauty in a relaxed, family atmosphere. Indeed, your hosts have built a tower so you can get a better view!

There is lots to do at the Resort. In Spring and Summer, enjoy Shadow Lake where you can boat and fish (and the restaurant will even cook your fresh catch for you). In the Winter, bring your skates!

There are Indoor and Outdoor Pools and in the evenings you can look forward to entertainment every night in the newly expanded Thunderbird Lounge. It is next door to the award winning Profile Dining Room, famous for the size of its portions as well as the quality of its food.

The Gift Shop has quite a remarkable array of souvenirs, featuring many hand-crafted Native American items.

Rooms are large and very comfortable with the buildings in "Lodge" style to match the local environment and all units featuring 50" Plasma HDTVs.

There area Shops and restaurants all nearby - with your car you will find you are centrally located to all area attractions. It is just a short drive along the amazing Scenic "Kancamagus Byway" to North Conway and all that "Factory Outlet" shopping.

Our mountain location on edge of Lincoln Village has large, comfortable rooms; private bathrooms; TV; air conditioning; year-round indoor and outdoor pools swimming pools; whirlpools (hot tubs); sauna; tennis courts; electronic games room; shuffleboard; boating and fishing on Shadow Lake; Profile Dining Room serving Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner daily; Thunderbird Lounge with Nightly Entertainment; Gift Shop and Free Parking.

Lunch was tasty, pub food options and was a pretty view from huge windows that wrapped around restaurant. Staff was friendly. Fun touristy gift shop. The look out tower is falling into disrepair. The tower was always one of my favorite little stops but it was truly terrifying this visit. The wood was rotting, soft and slippery. Definitely needs attention. Only stayed a couple minutes at the top with the kids because it felt dangerous to be standing on wood in such condition. Also, tower was literally SWARMED with yellow jackets that were also living under the metal frame top to bottom. Be careful!

I have taken my family here for about 4 years, and I would say overall I’m impressed, but there are a few things that do get on my nerves, first off it just so happens that every time there seems to be a group of teenagers from the UK or from Australia hoarding the whole resort , I thought it was supposed to be a family place, if you want a nice relaxing dip in the hot tub or pool you better wait until they get out ( which never happens ), or if your kid wants to play games in the nice little arcade, they better wait until the swarm of British teenagers get out of there. And another thing about those kids, they are unbelievably loud at night, those craps won’t shut the heck up until 3:00 in the morning. Then onto the pool, I think it’s great, having a nice warm pool in the winter, BUT.... there is a catch, when you get out you have to suffer from extreme chlorine burns, I think the amount is a bit excessive, during our latest trip there, my kids went swimming for about 20 minutes, they were fine, then they went again for about the same time, they ALL complained of irritated skin, burning eyes, and red spots all Over them. The food I have no complaints about, the staff are very warm and friendly, the rooms are nice and clean, but there schedule isn’t. One day the gift shop closed 20 minutes early, then the next day is was open 30 minutes late. You’d have to hodgepodge your time to figure out when you going to make a trip there.

Xmas Tree Package Review. Unfortunately some changes have been made which we didn't care for. In the past the package included 2 full breakfasts and 2 full dinners (choice of appetizer or dessert and choice of entree). The menu was large and full of chef inspired options. With this last trip, Dec 2017, we were supplied with $30 vouchers (4) for use in the dining room. The menu now has a few specials but it's reduced to pizza, burgers, sandwiches and other standard fare. We used 2 vouchers the first night and 1 for each breakfast each morning. Each time we had to pay an additional cost. In addition, we still didn't have enough for the second dinner therefore we chose to eat off property. In summary, this specific change is why we will be looking elsewhere for next year's tree run. That said, the rooms are adequate and well kept. The kids liked the pools and the location is great. I'd just recommend sticking with the room and bypass the package options.

Great birthday celebration! Some friends and I spent one night at the resort and will definitely go back. Rooms were comfy, outdoor heated pool and hot tub were awesome, drinks were delicious! All staff were friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful time and are talking about going back this summer!

This is the best and greatest resort in the New Hampshire, White Mountains National Forest. I have been here many many times since I was a young baby with my parents right up until present. I've spent my wedding anniversary there almost every year and I have also spent New Year's Eve at the Indian Head Resort. I have never had more comfortable accommodations or found a place with more amenities or things to do. I would highly recommend this place to families with children. The resort and the local area are magnificent.
