Stayed in a one bedroom cabin with a loft. Cabin was recently renavated, had a nice clean bathroom plenty of hot water, a small kitchen, and comfortable beds. FYI these are rustic cabins so even though my review is 4 stars this is not a "4 star resort."

We called and asked them if they're in the woods they said they're off the beaten path it's on main highway it was noisy all the time we couldn't even sleep . The cabins were so small and tight we still felt so uncomfortable there were bugs in there. We never saw the owners we only saw the caretaker the ground should've been taken care of better that was junk all over the place they made it sound like this was exceptional cabin. when we first got there there was no complementary coffee like the brochure said . What a waste of money

If you actually enjoy New Hampshire and the rustic feel (which I'm sensing some of the other reviewers probably don't like because of their comments) then Maple Lodge is absolutely lovely. I spent almost an entire summer there and it was basically a dream. As far as the "noise" goes, all I ever heard during my time there was birds singing and guests enjoying themselves, with the exception of some rare evenings when you can here the close-by racetrack (which is actually a really cool thing to see if you're into that sorta thing). In reference to the cabins themselves, if you are a good consumer like most of us are, you understand that these are CABINS and not mansions. So yeah, if you decided to go with the most economical choice which is literally called "the baby cabins," don't expect a ton of space to do yoga inside it or whatever. In reference to the bathrooms, specifically the one "reviewer" that said they're too small, the bathroom size absolutely depends on the cabin you decide to rent, and even the smallest bathroom is about twice the size of an airplane bathroom. When it comes to the cabins across the "highway" -- a car drives by like once every ten minutes, it's not a big deal AT ALL. If you're across the street and you have kids that want to swim in the pool, treat it just like you would ANYWHERE ELSE (including at your home!) and make sure your children know to look both ways before crossing, and obviously supervise your offspring when they're swimming and crossing the street. The pool itself was actually better than I originally expected it to be -- clean, heated and all. I would 100% return, and in fact I have many times, everytime bringing someone new, and they've never had anything to complain about. I hope this helps anyone who is considering a stay in the White Mountains/North Woodstock area!!

All of the photos show the cabins facing a mountain range with peaceful views.... It fails to mention that there is a busy, public road in front of that tiny, obstructed mountain with constant traffic. All I could hear were constant cars. And since I have my 2 small dogs with me.. They were on edge and barking. Along with that, the two dog cabins are so close to each other that my neighbor's dog and my dogs could hear eachother and kept eachother barking, which made me feel bad for other visitors. Also, it seems there are no rules on staying up because some other visitors were having a fire almost right in front of my cabin and had music playing on a radio until late at night. This cabin is WAY overpriced for the terrible location. I feel like I wasted my money.

Awesome rustic feel. To the people complaining about the size...well duh. They're cabins in the woods; if you want the holiday inn stay at the holiday inn, but if you want to live out a week in a Thoreau-esque setting Maple Lodge is where its at. Great hiking nearby, cute town down the road...awesome. Will definitely be staying again.
