Awful Awful Awful very commercial! Go somewhere black owned or POC owned this place is not it!
Why go here when there are plenty of other more friendly local coffee shops with a better atmosphere? They are super corporate feeling and overpriced, the coffee really isn't even that good they just try to sell you on the specialty drinks. That really distasteful gentrification sign they posted really sums up the vibe of the place. No thanks.
I do think they have good coffee although overpriced. I really like the B&B which is blended coffee chocolate and bananas. I don't like how corporate they feel. Starbucks feels more like a local neighborhood coffee shop than they do, which is saying something. Not a place to hangout and get work done in my opinion especially when there's other really cool places near by.
Really great customer service! Seriously! I had a tea, and the tea itself was good and not too ridiculously pricey. The place is cozy and simple, but since it's quite small I don't think I'd have tried to sit down if it had been packed.
It is a shame that this place of business did not stop to think about how disgraceful and insensitive their sign maybe to the people who have been forced to vacate their homes and neighborhoods to make room for yet another unnecessary coffee shop that attracts people who have no understanding of the culture and history that exist there. I hope they make some changes and begin supporting their neighborhood
You should have stood your ground. Instead you back down and let the mob run your business. So let's talk about gentrification. Increased values of homes improvements in neighborhoods and schools growth in economic activity better jobs with higher paying wages safer neighborhoods and a broader tax base. I remember when I was in college your neighborhood wasn't safe to park your car in let alone hang out in a coffee shop they should be on their knees thanking you for what this neighborhood has become. Frustrated that I couldn't spend money at your business today as you made the decision to close as a result of the protests. Let me know when you open backup and I'll be the 1st one at your door. Here's to the continued economic growth of our wonderful city and state.
Coffee tastes watery, and the establishment is really dirty. There were small ants crawling on the front counter along with a rotting smell coming from behind the counter. This place will start your day with your stomach in jumbles. Lastly, the staff created a very elitist atmosphere.
Me and my 5 brothers went to ink coffee to hide from the cold. The lady in the counter was very nice, told us about het family in Mexico and Puerto Rico, which was cool because that's where we're from The drinks were delicious. I had a coconut soy chai latte, which was off the hook. Highly recommended.
Truthfully, I never knew the sign was there - maybe it was on the other side of the building? All I know is they were not only were they helpful right up to closing time, but left me in peace after a long day. The food was tasty and the ambience was perfect quiet and let let me recoup. I'll be back!
I went to this place a few months ago because Crema wasn't open. The manager was standing there *yelling* at people from behind the counter we could still hear him yelling from outside the closed door after we walked out. He even yelled some inappropriate comments when a woman was eyeing for the bathroom, and he didn't even tell her where it was.. he seemed crazy. There were a lot of people there and I felt bad for her. I don't know how someone like that can get a job, let alone become a manager? Anyway, I don't like to write bad reviews but I'm not surprised that the gentrification "joke" came out of the woodwork. Small businesses aren't always run by good people.
