I have a classic Chevy pickup that needed repainting after a wind storm drug a tent garage down both sides. They simply said it was a rite off because of its age and would not even come out and look at it. Cancelled there ins. And paid to paint myself. They simply do not care about customers

Got in a car accicident and they sent some girl from intact named melanie burden and she lied to me about everything making me mess up all my ocf papers and they said they overpaid me for income replacement and are making me pay back all this money. Im trying to recover and there doing nothing to help even after paying them almost 300 dollers every month for them to. I have now switched but personally had a bad experience.

I was in a car accident and extremely impressed with the service I received from intact. I was given my own agent, Marie, so any time I called it went straight to her and she was so friendly and helpful, and followed through on everything she claimed she would.

The absolute worst company I have ever professionally dealt with. 

Do not purchase insurance from this company . If anything was to happen where you required their services or help . They will not help you! They will go out of their way to injure you more .  Corporate crooks and bullies.

DO NOT RECOMMEND. I started with Intact 1 year ago. They were my first insurance company I have been with and at the time provided me with the best rate. I got into a car accident about 3 months ago that I was not at fault for and my car was not drive-able (ended up being a complete write off). I called Intact to open a claim and as soon as I mention that the other parties insurance was American and that I only had liability coverage & NOT collision they told me that they could not help me.They told me that I had to contact her insurance and open a claim with them and do it all on my own. So, I did just that. However, when I contacted the other persons insurance company (who was great by the way) they told me that my insurance should be helping me as I was NOT AT FAULT and in Ontario we have a DCPD (Direct Compensation) Act that forces insurance companies to directly compensate and pay for any rental vehicles for clients who have been in a not at fault accident. When I contacted Intact again about this they were very ignorant and said that they TOLD me that I have to do it on my own and they can't help me. I then called them AGAIN and they said that they thought I was telling them the accident happened OUTSIDE of Canada. At this point I had to clarify almost 5x that it happened IN Canada. THEN, they proceeded to tell me that the American insurance company I was dealing with was not part of the DCPD act and again that they couldn't do anything for me. Meanwhile I am paying OUT OF POCKET for a rental car waiting around for an AMERICAN adjuster to travel all the way up to Canada to look at my car and officially write it off. The process took me almost 6 weeks to actually get settled before I could even discuss numbers for payment of my vehicle with the other company. I ended up paying $1600 out of pocket for my rental which the other insurance company was kind enough to reimburse me. I then received a text from Intact about 4 weeks into my process saying that I was assigned an adjuster so I got hopeful and contacted this adjuster and left 6 MESSAGES which they failed to call me back EVERY TIME. I never once talked to the adjuster AT ALL. The thing that pisses me off the most is I researched this DCPD act and I looked up a list of ALL the insurance companies that were listed on it and guess what came up? THE AMERICAN'S INSURANCE COMPANY. So not only did Intact LIE to me so that they could get out of paying for my car and rental vehicle and having to deal with fighting the other insurance company for it back, but then they also decided come renewal season to up my insurance from $280 to $477 a month!!!!!! When I called them they said they couldn't budge at all on the price. I contacted another insurance company and I'm now paying $212 a month. THEY ARE A BUNCH OF CROOKS and they are NO help at all when you are in an accident. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU DO NOT CHOOSE THIS COMPANY.
