While on vacation in the Midwest, we had a windshield crack to a degree that we felt it needed to be replaced prior to our return trip to the West coast. Our insurance company gave us three names for windshield repair in Cedar Rapids, including Iowa Auto Glass. Iowa Auto Glass replaced the windshield, but the rain sensor on the interior of the car fell off almost immediately. Less than 24 hours after having the windshield replaced, a windshield trim piece flew off the car while driving on a divided hiway; the trim piece was immediately run over and broke into three pieces. We phoned the dealership (80 miles distant) to order a new trim piece and also phoned Iowa Auto Glass to advise them of the problems with the rain sensor and the trim piece. Initially they were less than helpful, suggesting that these pieces were "dealer-installed" and they expressed doubt that they could help us get back onto the road for our scheduled return trip home. Our insurance company phoned Iowa Auto Glass and apparently advised them to provide some help in correcting the problems. In contrast, the car dealer was extremely helpful and scheduled us into their shop immediately. The dealership advised us that the windshield that Iowa Auto Glass installed was incorrect, that the correct one included a bracket for the rain sensor. While enroute to the dealership, Iowa Auto Glass phoned us, criticized us for going elsewhere to get the problems fixed, and promptly hung up on the phone conversation. Bottom line, we drove 160 miles (round trip) to the dealership where the correct windshield was installed, along with a new windshield trim piece, Iowa Auto Glass was not helpful in correcting their problem and rude (hanging up the phone during our conversation), and I cannot give them more than one star.

Pretty horrible place. So many issues, to start i arrived at my schedule time and the boss guy said the tech wasn't even there yet. 2. Dude never explained why it was gonna be 200 to only install a window regulator. The boss left to get food while i was waiting in the lobby and the tech came and asked me to help hold the window because he had nobody to help so i had to hold the window for 10 mins, which confused me I'm paying 200 for an hour worth of work that i had to also help with? Not to mention the tech wasn't the brightest asking me questions when I'm the customer and he's supposed to have the solution at least for 200$ i would think. and lastly the lobby was disgusting there were 2 gross couches in a dirty lobby with huge nasty flys flying around the room and a constant beeping like someone had the phone on speaker and there was a call on hold. horrible place horrible service. Do not recommend at all because even if you take away one or 2 of these issues any one of them standing alone is enough to make me highly NOT recommend this place.

Wish I could also give them a zero. In September 2015 my windshield was chipped. I took it in immediately because my insurance will pay for a chip put not a replacement. While there the guy made me talk to my insurance company on his phone to get an approval for the work. When the work was completed and I was told my car was done I looked at it and questioned the work. The manager looked at it and said it was fine that's the way it should look. Two weeks later I got a message from the owner saying he had left me a number of messages and I needed to call him back with my insurance information. This was the first call from him and it miffed me a bit because he was so rude. I called him him back and left a message with my insurance information. Today March 9th 2016 I notice the chip had started to run. I called the company and asked about there warranty process. I thought it was one year so wasn't to worried. Apparently there is no warranty. They will only refund the work. Oh and by the way they forgot to bill my insurance company so there is no refund at all. I was told all this while being yelled at by the the owner of the company that he was going to hang up on me when I question him about the warranty and the missed billing. So here's where I'm at now. A windshield that will have to be replace at my cost . A company that will not warranty their work when they fixed it incorrectly. And the best part of all, I got to be treated rudely and yelled at during this great journey. Next call will be to my old insurance company because I know I was told one year warranty. Then a letter to the BBB. And don't worry, owner of the company" I'll include you in each of the letters.

Worst company ever. My husband choose this company to replace his windsheild on his truck. The guy that came to our house and replaced the windshield spent 45 minutes to beat in the old hard seal around the window instead of replacing it like we had been told. The next time it rains we get in the truck and sure enough the seal is all busted so any moisture or water gets in through the windsheild. When my husband noticed he called the company right away to have them make it right and talked to the owner. The owner of the company started cussing my husband out and ultimately hung up on him. The owner told us it was our fault that it is leaking, that they installed everything properly. My husband then took a video and multiple pictures of where the problem was and what was going on and the owner still continued to tell us we were wrong and refused to come check it out. Then when I called and tried to speak to someone I got a woman who told me I was crazy and there was nothing they would do for us. This company is the biggest scam artists there are. I hope no one ever gives these people money again because if they screw up it's still your fault.

Dumbest people at this place. Duct taped my window shut and said they needed to call Toyota to get the proper piece to install it correctly. A couple of days go by and I don't hear anything so i give 'em a call and they say "Oh yeah, Toyota never called back. We'll let you know." A couple more days go by and I call again and get the same response. I said the hell with them and called Toyota myself. I had the parts in my hand in two days!! Thanks for nothing, idiots. Don't go to this place. They're lazy and incompetent
