Inside the Garland Texas Bass Pro Shop. Great service. Fish n chips hot and fresh. Wait person very attentive. First and only visit in 2017. Second visit 2018. All You can eat fried shrimp on Thursdays was terrible. Expected wild caught ocean or gulf shrimp. Their shrimp was the kind you buy out of a box at grocery store. Farmraised,Small,flat and flavorless. Grease was old. French fries were cooked in same old grease. Was embarrassed after telling guest in our party how great it was going to be. New menu and supplier Not working out for me. I will not be going back. Changed rating from 4 stars to 2 stars. Wife decided to pass on fish-n-chips after was told cod fish is from China now.

Today at lunch. Sat outside. Not crowded. Poor service. Slow. Not sure if she was new or just bad. Had to ask for refills, salt, pepper, sauces. Appetizers were placed on the table with no individual plates and insufficient sauces. Fish & chips.... Fish was over breaded. Had to peel it away to eat the fish. Onion rings were over cooked. One member of our party ordered the steak sandwich. Only ate half and refused to take the rest, stating "It's not very good." We have eaten here before and were very pleased but today was a bust.

I was a little surprised when I found out the restaurant was inside a bass pro shop but the food was delicious, the atmosphere was chill and the service was good. I was glad to find a restaurant with water views of Lake Ray Hubbard. I grew up in Florida so water views were abound but hard to come by now that we live inland.

Visited this restaurant for Mother's day dinner about 6pm, not realizing they closed at 7pm. The food was ok, nothing special. Ordered the alligator for appetizer and they were deep fried with a little spice. The flavor was nice. My boyfriend ordered the all you can eat shrimp, I thought it included coconut shrimp but it was butterfly shrimp only. I got a grilled fish with cream sauce. As the menu stated, I requested red fish instead of tilapia and substituted a salad for the veggies. I assumed the salad would be delivered before the meal but it arrived with the fish. The dinner was not red fish as I requested and the cream on top did not look appetizing, it was lumpy and thick. The plate was very bare and lacked decoration or spizaz (see pic). The view of Lake Ray Hubbard was pretty nice.

This was going to be possibly our last trip to this restaurant due to 2 bad experiences in the past. I must say that whether it be the new manager or new cooks or a change in overall attitude towards customer service, but this trip was enjoyable and the food was good. I had the Isla Morada Portofino which was very good. The size of the place makes it a little overwhelming and makes it hard to get a quaint atmosphere, we chose to sit out on the patio since it was a beautiful day. Due to the good service we had by Becky and our waiter we would definitely go back in the food was definitely much better than our past two experiences. Hopefully they can keep this team together and get rid of all the bad reviews from the past.
