I know that a lot of people like this place and that it is a Redding landmark, but I always leave there underwhelmed. Part of the pleasure of going to a steakhouse for me is the salads, appetizers and sides that they offer. Caesar salad with fresh anchovies, deep fried calamari, sauteed mushrooms in a Burgundy sauce, mashed potatoes with truffles, you know what I mean. But not at Jack's. Their "House Salad" is nothing more than iceberg lettuce drowned in a dressing that tastes like something you would buy in a plastic bottle from Safeway. The steaks are just okay, nothing special, but I can forgive them for that. However, to call yourself a steakhouse and have a menu that can fit on a postcard may be a tradition, but in my opinion, it is one tradition that needs updating. I have been there twice only because the other members of my party wanted to go there. Next time I will let them go to Jack's without me and I will meet up with them after I have had a real dinner at The Market Street Steakhouse. It may not be perfect but a least they have calamari.

We were the last customers of the night. We had a wonderful experience here! Great staff. Absolutely wonderful food! Steak melted in my mouth like butter! Definitely recommend this place! 😁❤

These guys cook a steak like I've never tasted anywhere else. Such a great. Blue cheese is amazing too.

Best steaks of all time. Salad is simple and addictive. Staff is amazing, friendly, and always remembers us even after not going in for half a year or more. Worth the money and the wait if you love simple great steak.
