This was about 5 years ago... I work for the state. I used to drop shoes off on my lunch break & then come back months later to pick them up. One day I mentioned that it's kinda hard to get there because his business hours are the same as mine (8-5, Mon-Fri). The next time I came he had new business hours 9:30-6 and a few hours on Sat. THAT is meeting the needs of the customer & good business sense.

AND a great job on my shoes!!!!

Excellent service! It's impossible to find a shop these days that repairs shoes. I don't want to throw a pair of boots in the trash when all it needs is a quick repair job. Sad to say, some brands of boots...for instance, Red Wing, make their boots purposefully so that you can't get them resoled. They want you to buy new boots! well, those of us who aren't named Bill Gates need a repair done. I can't afford to buy new boots every six months. 
That's where shops like Jack's are an asset to any community.
I highly recommend Jack's. The work is professional,  the prices reasonable and the service cheerful and quick.

Had very mixed experience at Jack's.

After reading all the positive reviews I went all-in, and brought him my three favorite pairs of dress shoes, all of which needed new heels as well as other small fixes. He did a wonderful job on the physical repairs, but on my favorite of the three, he polished right over the contrast stitching, permanently staining it the same brown as the rest of the shoe. He also mismatched the polish on another pair - it had been an oxblood-ish rusty red, but he just polished it with the same darker brown as my other pair. 

Communicating about any of this was hard because he doesn't speak a lot of English. Overall, both pairs of shoes still looked good, and the quality of the repairs appeared to be quite good, but it was also really disappointing to have one of the distinctive features of a favorite pair of shoes ruined, and to not even be able to bring it up with him as I would with another cobbler. For $150 of repairs on $500-worth of shoes it was a bummer.

Strange as it is to say, though, I would definitely go back, because his prices are good and the quality of his work is also, mostly. I would just be careful to be extremely clear about what I want.

Shop also has a fantastic selection of very high quality shoe care items including many colors of the nicest polish I have ever used.

Just called,  actually called twice to get pricing and let me rang all the way through twice. Note I called during regular business hours. They lost my money.

Went in to get new out soles installed on my boots. Jack and his wife are extremely friendly. The cost for soles was about $80, they do not take card, only cash or check. The turn-around was one week. The quality of work is excellent, Jack paid attention to small details that I would not have even noticed. The end result looks like it would have left the factory that way. Exceeded my expectations in every way.
