I’ll say it’s the most authentic Chinese food restaurant in Chapel Hill (I’m a Chinese). The trick is don’t order from the English menu but order those with Chinese names. (Yes they get two menus, one Americanized and one authentic Chinese). And just a personal feeling, the food is safer and the kitchen is cleaner than Gourmet Kingdom. Staff are nice too.

Very UNPROFESSIONAL... called and spoke with a lady and she didn’t even specify dinner and lunch options so when I got on phone with someone she passed the phone off too she was very unpleasant. Saying “OH MY GOD” because I was trying to get clarification on what I was paying for. Then when I asked to speak to a manager they hung up the phone

After moving here and trying a few different Chinese restaurants (like Gourmet Kingdom, which was a terrible experience) to continue our weekly Chinese tradition, Jade Palace is so far great. They are a bit pricey and a young man on their staff couldn't care less about customer service (he was playing a game on his phone the entire time we ordered take-out and ignored other customers asking him for help) but as for the food, it's really good. Their Dragon & Phoenix is unlike anything else.

UPDATE September, 2017 - We have moved our tradition to Red Lotus since we found a hair in our dumplings :(

Took over an hour to deliver my order and the orange chicken sauce was in a separate bowl and was way too tangy. My boyfriends general chicken was good. The rice was cruncy and mushy in some areas....wont be ordering again

This really is the worst Chinese food I have ever tasted, and Ive been eating Chinese food once a week for over 20 years from many different places around the country. I even gave it chances trying  many different thigs on the menu, but in the end this is still the worst. Small portions and over priced. You can make your own and have it be 10 times better than the food they serve here, easy. The service is not much better. I watched the phone ring while the person behind the desk just stared at their cell phone until the ringing stopped...multiple times! Try somewhere else my friend...
