Pretty large restaurant which seems to be the trend with these South Padre Island restaurants. Walked in for dinner on Thanksgiving and they were fully staffed. Pretty slow for dinner I thought but it WAS Thanksgiving. Our server was very friendly and attended to us regularly. He didn't know the soup of the day but that seems like something that changes regularly and he just didn't remember what that days was but another server gladly helped him. Overall well done. Shoutout to our server Luke.
Great place and food. No waiting and not overcrowded. Pleasant atmosphere with live easy listening music. Not too loud and you can enjoy a conversation during dinner. Food servings are plentiful and prices are reasonable. We had the fish basket and shrimp basket. Oysters on the half shell were delicious. Very good menu choices. Dessert is awesome. Highly recommended.

Good food and great service at Jake's! Servers and greeters were all friendly and upbeat and the service was reasonably quick. Food was great, too! Very casual, laid back vibe. Awesome place ,staff was amazing our server was great I unfortunately can’t remember his name but he has been there for 2 weeks or so but he was on point with everything anything anyone at the table requested with no hesitations no long waiting he had taken care of it he came back to check on us frequently, like not to the point where it was like ok we’re good and not to the point where your like is he even coming back he knew what he was doing so thumbs up to him and aswell to the hostess that seated us .all around great atmosphere nice people and all around great service definitely recommend
Their beef enchiladas are THE BEST enchiladas I’ve had in a long time. My daughter loved the fried fish… and she doesn’t usually like fish. My husband really enjoyed the shrimp, and my youngest ate her entire sandwich, though she usually doesn’t eat much. We have found a new favorite here in south padre. The environment is great too. The staff is very polite and attentive. We definitely plan on coming back.
First time here and really glad we came. I was a little "fished out" by this point on our trip so I got the ponchos. Huge portion. Great price. Husband had the fish basket and it was delicious. It was much better than some of the other places we tried. The hostess and waitress was fantastic. They were so nice. They made the experience that much better just by their demeanor. We will definitely go back next time we are in town
We were very impressed with this place. The staff is so nice. Micheal and Jasmine both were very friendly and they got us what we asked for in a timely manner. The food was awesome. I ordered a burger. I thought it would be with a small burger patty so ordered a double patty and that burger was HUGE. I was only able to eat half of it. I recommend you order just the regular burger on the menu, don’t go adding an extra patty. The fried fish was so good. The Mozzarella sticks also were good And the nachos with cheese. They actually make the nachos like they should be made! With lots of cheese My 1 year old also liked the rice and beans, which I was surprised they had, but I’m glad they had it because my baby girl likes her rice and beans. We will definitely be coming back here!
The place we thought we'd go to for a late lunch was closed, so we turned around, walked the other direction from our hotel, and stumbled on Jake's. OMG! It was delish. I had the blackened fish tacos. Winner!!!
Great service and friendly staff. The place was clean and in good location. The food was good also.
