Traditional Mexican food - friendly waitress. The waitress did not bring out our order together and our appetizer came with our food but not a big deal as wanted guacamole for my chili rellenos. Seemed like fryer was not hot enough so chili rellenos greasy but a good batter on rellenos. Waitress brought out cheese enchiladas which should have been chicken enchiladas. She handled it well and new enchiladas came out quickly. The enchiladas tasted good with the homemade salsa. Had to ask for refills and no check back but it seems like she wanted to do well just not trained. She was the only waitress on the main floor but only 4 tables. The tables were spread out over the whole restaurant as we were directed sit anywhere you want - so not very efficient. The cashier just stayed by the register - did not help with anything but picking up credit card for bill. Front door not working use side. They do have breakfast - traditional Mexican.
Very good restaurant; my girlfriend took the chicken Quesadillas and me the Mexican plate and we were both very impressed by the quality of the meal, presentation and service. Typical Mexican cuisine with home made tortillas and salsa! Everything was really good , served fast and at the good temperature.
Great place to eat on the island. Very inexpensive compared to most places around the area. One thing to know is that do not have any seafood items on the menu. I would also recommend the 1/2 burger and go hungry.
They are fairly new restaurant and still tweaking things. But the food was great and the prices too. Real mexican food with actual mexican flavor. Would definitely go there when on the Island.
Delicious food, great service and reasonable price! Will definitely visit again.
Walked in at around 1230, there were a group of workers at the cash register chatting it up and having a good time. We were told to sit anywhere we like. There was only 4 tables with customers. All other tables were dirty but one. We sat there for 5 minutes and never recieved a menu or a drink order so we left. South padre island does not seem like a place for eating any quality Mexican food.
Lunch was so good yesterday that we came back today for breakfast! Really good food & service at very reasonable prices. And freshly made flour tortillas the size of a small pizza. Please support this wonderful independent restaurant.
I’m basing this on the fact that we were a party of 9 plus 3 kids so I’ll go easy. The food was pretty good. Tortillas are edible but feel artificial. The sodas were flat due to their machine needing service. Our particular server was the issue here. We sat down and then another big party came about 10 mins later. That party had their food first and also were gone before us. And then my daughters plate was forgot and she was the only one with out food for a good 10 mins. This experience is basically graded on service.
Slow slow slow. Came here for a meal with my package deal I bought for spring break and wanted over 45 min. Bad service. We asked for chips and salsa and a waiter said they didn’t have any. So we asked another waiter and got some. Food was decent but there was a long wait and there were more than 10 tables open.
Started off getting a dirty look when asking for more than one bowl of salsa. I mean three grown men need more than a small bowl. Instead of getting one for each the waitress brought 1 more. The sweet tea was sour and chips were stale. Then we read the other bad reviews including the roach in my food and they stole my wallet review. We decided it must have been a clue that we were the only people there and the ceiling had partially fallen in. At this point we chose to pull out and burn off but we left $10 to cover the stuff we were scared to eat.
