I was surprised when I saw 50-70% off Christmas clearance today (Jan. 27th). I was even more surprised when I read the signs closer and it said "take an additional 50% off merchandise that has already been reduced 50-70%". Awesome! I took some time and looked through their mess. After some time I came up with 4 sets of matching pajamas for $11.40 each. I thought, well hey, can't really beat $5.70 each! right?! WRONG! I took them to the register where I found the only things NOT an additional 50% were the pajamas. While I was discussing it, I saw that the regular price for each set was $19. I said all the signs say 50-70% off original price. She said "50% off 19.00 is almost $11.40" WHAT?! I said "50% off $19 is not almost $11.40!? You have false advertising signs if it isn't going to be at least 50% off original price". I wasn't going to push it any further...but that's the kind of help JCP has...someone incapable of figuring out that 50% of 19 is $9.50! Not almost $12!. Good luck if they think someone else is going to come in and purchase the last 4 Christmas PJ's of the same style & different sizes together....without going lower in price. That and JCP just lost a platinum card member for about $20.

I went here to shop for work pants. I had on a pair of Khakis and came out of the dressing room to show my Boyfriend. Some old bat that works there walked by and said "Those are way too tight they are going to rip apart at the seams". I wasn't planning on getting that pair, but I did have a few picked out already. I was so upset that I just basically called fat by some employee that had no business even speaking to me, no was she by any means asked for her opinion, I just left and never came back. Sad because I used to shop here all the time. I wish I would have gotten her name, I don't know what makes her feel like she needs to run around abusing customers.

Went there first thing. Jeans thrown around, dressing room dirty. The store is going down hill. No one up stairs at all to check out. I used to love shopping there, not any more

Have been a loyal satisfied customer since 1974 and have always had good service in the past. Catalog Pickup Service Center was closed. Had to go to only service desk open with 5 to 6 customers in line. When I asked why did they have a Catalog Pickup Center if no one was ever there, a manager turned his back on me and totally ignored me. The woman waiting on me said that area was just used for storage. I then suggested maybe they should remove the very large "Catalog Pickup" sign. There was at least 3 other people in line there to pick up an order, and each time the clerk had to leave the service desk area and walk all the way back to the Catalog Pickup Center to find their order which was very time consuming. Overall very dissatisfied and disappointed with with service.

Awesome Penney's. There is usually some hidden gems in their clearance section. And their clearance section is awesome. $30 button-ups for $4-$7 sometimes. Rest of their selection is up to par with the other department stores, but usually the price is better at Penney's. The associates at the counter are also great. The older women that assisted me had a smile, and was cheerful. Great experience. Love this place!
