Story

JOYLAND AMUSEMENT PARK is a small family-owned traditional amusement park, located in beautiful Mackenzie Park in Lubbock, Texas and has been entertaining kids of all ages since 1948. The typical season will begin in early March and end in early September. Joyland is open weekends March to September and Tuesday through Friday evenings June through August.

In a word this place is just...fine. Our kids had an absolute blast and I rode my fair share of rides as well. The Park was relatively clean and the staff was knowledgeable and friendly. There were a good selection of rides for all age groups as well as general arcade type games. I particularly appreciated the cool misting system that ran all throughout the park. I am from Amarillo and while I do think Wonderland is a considerably better experience as far as general amusement park fun is concerned, there really is nothing really WRONG with Joyland. Save for one thing. I removed one star from this review because in my opinion as far as establishments like this are concerned, drinks and food are VASTLY overpriced. But other than that this is a fine place for a fun family outing.

First time going and I must say it’s a great deal for kids and family time. But the food is nasty I spent a great deal of money on the food and it was gross the funnel cakes was over cooked so no enjoyment to it the burgers had a funny taste my 2 year old neice and nephew would not eat the kids meal corn dogs and the wait in line to order food is a 45 min to an hour or more to get disappointed

I've loved this park ever since I was a little kid. There's something very nastaolgic about it. Several rides have been renovated and they look nice! Wednesday's are $12 dollar general admission and no charge for fountain drinks! Had a blast!

Was a great delight.  Lines were minimal, staff was friendly and choice of rides...from our 3 year old to the 13 year old.... were of good choices.  Great little feature for this area!

Very pleased with prices and rides. We took our 4 and 7 year old and they enjoyed it! Although some of the rides feel kinda old and sketchy as an adult lol but we still had fun. The only thing I think would be better is opening earlier during the day. The restrooms could use an upgrade too.
