Bad service, to long wait, way to manny people for the staff there, uncaring personell....you pay first if you wait 2 hrs and you want to leave.....too bad.

DO NOT TAKE THE PHONE CONSULTATION. I went in today with a stuffed up nose and sore throat that I've had for two weeks. Took the option to talk to a doctor over the phone. Was given no meds just told it was a virus and to buy over the counter stuff for it. 😑

5 stars for Urgent Care?!?  

Yes, here's why!

During my SF trip, after showering to get ready for bed, the cotton came off the Q-tip I was using and got stuck in both ears.  Unbeknownst to me, my mouthwash leaked onto the Q-tips in my toiletry kit, causing the cotton to easily come off and, hence, getting lodged in my ear canals.  My hearing wasn't affected much, so I just decided to not worry about it till I got home.

Fast forward 4 days later, I utilized tweezers in a nail clipper kit I got for free from H Mart during their grand opening.  I flushed my ears with water, causing the cotton to expand to facilitate removal of the foreign bodies.  Fortunately, I was able to rid myself of the cotton in my right ear, but the left ear proved a tough nut to crack.  Having flushed my ears with water, the cotton was now affecting my hearing.  No infection of any kind, but quite the annoyance.

6 days later & no luck with removal, I finally bit the bullet and headed to Kaiser Permanente Urgent Care on a Sunday morning.  Expecting a long wait, I brought a book, snacks & a positive attitude with me as I headed inside.

The waiting room was almost filled to capacity.  People coughing their lungs out, people with pus-filled wounds on their feet etc.  It was a worst case scenario.  As I checked in,  I was told the wait was approximately 2 hours.  The employee said I would be sent a text when I was ready to be seen, so I can shop/have breakfast etc. in the meantime.  However, I needed to wait for my vitals to be taken first.

About 5 minute of sitting & reading my book, I was called in for vitals.  After having my BP, oxygen, temp and weight taken (I lost weight, BTW), I was surprisingly taken to a room, awaiting treatment by the Urgent Care specialist.  Someone quickly came in, made an observation of my ear canals, and removed the pesky cotton hooligan from my ear.  

Expecting hours of wait time on a Sunday morning, I was in & out in approximately 10 minutes.  Oh heck yeah!  I felt bad for those waiting in the lobby, but my case required a simple procedure which I reasoned why I was seen so abruptly and I felt great having spent such little time before being treated & having the rest of my Sunday to myself.  

There's no doubt your experience will differ than mine, depending upon the scenario upon which you're visiting urgent care for, but I can only review from my subjective experience, and there's no way I cannot give 5 stars for my first visit to Kaiser Permanente Urgent Care at the Orchard Medical Offices.

I have seen a bunch of people young and old go before me. It doesn't matter if they're here for different reasons, I've been here for 3 hours and haven't seen the doctor yet. After my $30 co-pay I find out each of my medications are $10 co-pay. EACH. This place will rip you off and waste your time.
