Look under the mattress pad. If you go here, that's the first thing you should do. Ours was filthy, with little poop colored crumbles under the mattress pad. So the manager, Ian, assigned me to another room. I knew there was a good chance it would be filthy too, since the first was so bad. I advised Ian to make sure it was clean because I was going to check carefully. Any good hotel I've stayed at is always embarrassed if something like this happens and goes out of their way to make it right. Ian didn't show a lot of surprise that anything had been wrong with the first room - never a good sign, and must not have a lot of sway over the cleaning crew because the second room they took me to was pretty bad too, with lots of hair all over the top of the mattress pad. Ian seems lethargic. He barely blinked an eye at the second strike. Meanwhile, our friends arrived to check into their room, and got a free upgrade! What? I'm really happy for our friends, but I'm not even sure I've been offered an apology from the manager, much less an upgrade. I asked Ian about an upgrade for our troubles. He said that since they were going to the trouble of finding us another room and cleaning it, if necessary, and that made an upgrade too much compensation. He offered us a couple of free pizzas. Well, it's something, though I wouldn't normally exchange an experience like this for a couple of pizzas. I'd prefer no pizzas and a clean room any day. Ian told us to go enjoy the water park and another room would be ready when we returned. We are back, and I am writing this from the first room with the little poop crumbles, because Ian felt that they didn't need to move us if they just re cleaned the room. Yes, I checked and the crumbles are gone, but it's still dirty with little bits of debris and tiny hairs all over. What can I do? It’s a nice place otherwise, but I don’t think I’ll be back. I'll update this at the end of our stay in a couple of days.

We stayed in one of the hut suite things. It was a family getaway. The suite was spacious and had plenty of TVs, but that was about it. Everything seemed used and abused and in need of repairs. Heck, half of the TV remotes didn't even work. There was a broken hot tub with no warning signs on it, and someone actually got seriously hurt due to a suction port getting stuck to them. The staff just said oh well, we can't fix them so they just stay broke. Only reason I gave it 2 stars is because the water park isn't too bad. Don't waste your money on the resort. Stay at a nicer place with friendlier people and just hit the water park.

I decided to visit Kalahari again because it had always been a phenomenal experience! I arrived to find the park shut down and a piece of air duct in the pool. It took me over an hour to go through the line to get checked in. The reason I give them 5 stars is because of the amazing staff. I was greeted politely, constantly updated on the situation, and they refunded the money I paid for this trip and said "Your stay is complimentary due to the unscheduled maintenance of the park." Everyone was so kind and accommodating, despite the circumstances. Weeks later, I received a letter from a department head at the resort saying that they did not think it was right to just comp my night. So they sent me another complimentary stay with admission! It is that kind of customer service and following through with their guests that makes Kalahari the best out there. I will DEFINITELY be returning! Their rooms are beautiful and clean, food options are outstanding, arcade is best out there, bar none, and the water park is so much fun and accommodating to all ages. Always a great experience, regardless of the circumstances.

Very fun for the whole family. They have water slides for all ages and boy are they fun. The lines can be long sometimes, but they tend to move pretty quick. All the food and drinks are pretty expensive here so I recommend packing your own alcohol and food if you want to cut costs. They have a large arcade room that you can win prizes at. Really a nice place to visit with your family or friends if you are near it.

it was great fun although one of the main attractions was closed all day Friday. We ate dinner in the buffet, the food was good but they ran out of the prime rib and most of the deserts. no outside food allowed and inside the park was very expensive. Our room was the absolute last, farthest 20 minute walk from the park so the food we took came back home because an hour was lost just getting back and forth. Although great fun, it was a thousand dollar day
