This is your quintessential urban college coffee shop with an outdoorsy aesthetic. I am not from this area but was around for an interview and stopped in to kill some time. It was a pleasant place to do so and the shop seemed to be bustling with college students and professionals. It has a cozy, eccentric vibe that many coffee shops tend to have. It has a menu in addition to coffee. My only complaint was that there was no signage or info on the receipt that lets people know the code needed to get in the bathroom. I had to approach the staff to get the code. I understand wanting only paying customers to use the bathroom...but they need to make the bathroom accessible to those paying customers too. I really don't like having to ask someone to use the bathroom.

I love the atmosphere in here. It's a pretty large coffee shop with cabin-like décor; it's a perfect place to grab a quick bite while getting some work done, especially for a Wash U student. The coffee and tea are high quality with lots of great tasting options. Food and pastries are all made fresh and pretty inexpensive, but nothing spectacular. Service is fast and friendly. Thumbs up for Kayak's!

I was recently living in St. Louis and I was driving past Kayaks and I was intrigued so I eventually visited the coffee shop. Mindblowing very nice decor reminds me of a mountain Resort. Great coffee and delicious pastries.

Kayak's is an awesome spot to study with friends on a Saturday or Sunday. They have a great ambiance and delicious food, specifically, their bbq chicken pizza, and great coffee.
