Definitely one of my favorite places to hike and one I've been back to numerous times, sometimes bringing friends along who equally enjoyed it. It offers numerous stunning views of the Georgia landscape, it's a fantastic, challenging trek for seasoned hikers (but also accommodates casual ones), great for pets, and is ideal for history buffs. The park is impressively maintained and the staff are wonderful and truly passionate about what they do. It is an instant go-to for me on the weekend.

Can't really go wrong at a national park, but this one is spectacular. Bring the kids and spend the day hiking to the mountain ( you can take the trail or road or drive up the road). There are several trails with various levels of difficulty. Bring some good hiking shoes. The park office is open 9am - 5pm daily. The bathrooms are open from 7:30am - 8pm. Bring water and some snacks. Lots of civil war memorabilia, cannons, signs, etc, and more to see in the visitor center. No charge to walk the trails or hike the mountain. We've brought our kids here many times over the years and they always have a blast. Pets (leashed) are welcome.

Great experience. So many trails that can get you to the top with distances varying greatly, as well as the difficulty. You can drive right up to the top if you’re not one for hiking. A lot of people just walk along the road for an easy and direct route to the top. I’ve seen all ages on this mountain, especially in the area around the welcome center.

This is a beautiful property. Nice hike. Often see deer on the trail. One glaring, perpetual problem with this place... Parking!! If it's a nice day out, the place attracts a lot of people and they just don't have the parking to support the crowds. The trail can handle the crowds just fine, but not the parking lots.

This was our first national park. It was awesome. The staff were all amazing and helpful. The hike up the mountain was perfect for me and my almost 3 year old. Mostly gravel with some stone parts, which she loved.
