Absolutely terrible. I went to the ER for gallbladder pain, it felt like a rupture. I was there for 5 hours, and didn't get seen. They didn't care at all. This hospital is the most unprofessional and apathetic of all health care facilities in Lexington. I checked out and went to UK Hospital. I got in within five minutes. Saint Joe East obviously doesn't care about its patients. It's all about money. Save yourself and your families time, avoid this hospital at all costs.

They have the worst ER there has ever been, I went in yesterday 2/12/17. With chest pain. I have Lupus and RA. I had to wait 30 minutes in the lounge, then some young girl who didn't want to be at work was in her phone. They come and got me put me in a room for 45 minutes. I called a nurse some red head guy come told me to hang in there, they was 2 more people in front of me. So I left they told me to sign a price of paper that said they were not libel if something happen to me. I told them to shove it. I just had 2 stints put in glad I didn't stay there and went to a real hospital Cental Baptist.

I checked into this hospital in 2014 when I as pregnant with my baby. It was an emergency, my OB doctor asked me to check into St. Joseph East as this is close to my home. I went there, waited for more than 25 minutes for the lady behind the desk to register me in. She took my medical insurance card and put all information into their system ( I assume she was doing that, while I was under severe pain and waiting by her desk ). It was a false alarm, the doctor let me go after I was lying in their bed for about 1 hour. THEN, COMES THE STRANGE PART: I have not received any hospital bill from them after that, since this should be fully covered by my medical insurance. I though my insurance had already paid it. After 16 months of my visit, when my baby was more than ONE year old, I received A BILL from this hospital, saying that I need to pay this hospital visit myself. I called the hospital billing department, and was told that they didn't find my new medical insurance coverage, what they had was my old medical insurance card in 2009 when I visited this hospital then. I was completely shocked since I remember clearly how much long I waited in the emergency room desk waiting for that lady to input my insurance card information. I sent them my medical insurance information again asking them to file to my insurance since this should be covered by the insurance. I have not heard back after that, I thought the hospital got paid by the insurance company after they filed to my new insurance company. Then, yesterday I checked my credit history ( I haven't done this for several years, never had any late bill payment in my life ). Then, find a collection of this hospital bill in my credit history! I called the hospital and trying to find a solution on this bill, the lady told me to talk to the collection agency. I was very angry at what this hospital did. They were irresponsible for the mistake they made and they told me that the hospital is not responsible for making the claims to the insurance companies. The patient is liable for all the bills. BUT, YOU SHOULD HAVE SENT ME THE BILL AFTER MY VISIT, NOT AFTER 16 MONTHS, IT'S TOO LATE!! BTW, I have not changed my home address all these years.

I had my first prenatal ultrasound here! This should be an exciting/emotional appointment! The US tech, named Tiffany, was bland and simply unfriendly. She gave no notice of inserting the wand, and when i literally shouted, she neither apologized, nor asked if I was okay. The screen was not positioned to where my husband and I could easily see the baby, so I looked like a contortionist trying to see the baby on the monitor. She did not ask if we could hear the heart beat. When she removed the wand I politely asked if everything looked okay and she looked at me, completely expressionless and emotionless, and said "I can't tell you that." Okay I understand legally you may not be able to give me this information but at least show a little compassion and empathy. The machine conveniently was broken so it couldn't print pictures so she instructed to take a picture of the ONE photo on the screen. Most people leave with at least two hard copies. Lastly, she neither provided, nor directed me to, a towel to clean up. My first appointment was a disaster, other than seeing our baby on the screen. I cannot believe I am having to pay for the disgustingly poor service I received.

Your commercial states to see a provider in half the time. Was there last night at 11pm. Didn't even get close to triage at midnight as there were 2 ahead of me still not seen. Probably 5 people in ER. At midnight signed out due to such a wait. If the 3 hours is what I was told the wait time was is "half the time" sure don't want to be there for all the wait time. I work at an urgent treatment. Maybe SJE can take a lesson from us. Don't know what was going on in the ER but no updates offered at all. Pull your commerical. False advertising at its best.
