I have stayed overnight quite a few times. Many options to stay the night. Tent, basic cabin w/no restrooms, bigger cabins w/full kitchens and bathrooms, RV pads. This park has access to the Beautiful Guadalupe river. Gear outfitters are not on premise but can rent canoes or kayaks. Large playground, volleyball court, half court for basketball, butterfly garden, miles of trails for hiking and mountain biking. Small outdoor amphitheater. Medium sized hall with kitchen available for events. Anglers must have a fishing license because this is not a state park, but a city park. Full access restrooms for people who are handicapped close to ranger station with full access showers available in a private restroom.

Stayed here several times around March 2017. Great municipal campground. First visit I stayed in the "river side" for a few nights. My site was way too close to the road with lots of traffic. RV sites back up to each other in some areas, initially I had the camper behind me riding his motorcycle through my site instead of driving around. I switched to another site. The next visit I opted for the "hill side" (larger area across the street) bigger and quieter. Nice restrooms and facilities on both sides. The office staff was great and very helpful. Plenty of quality service in Kerrville including laundromats and all the usual services that we seek on the road.

The park is split into two parts divided by Texas 173. The park office side has Robert access. Pecan loop had tree covered RV sites. Pull through with power, water and sewage. There Sycamore loop is more exposed. There is access the the River Trail from this side. The other side is much larger. Nice RV sites. This is where the MTB trails are. There is one difficult climb/descent on the Orange Trail at point G (check the map). I'd say the rest of the trails are easy with a couple of small drops. Just pick your line. Well worth a visit.

Go hiking and fishing here regularly. Great place to camp whether tent, RV, or cabin. They are adding new trails and keep the others well maintained. Well worth the year membership! We will get this every year to access the park.

The park is very nice clean. But the 30 amp parking area is by a busy highway and it's very noisy. If you have a 50 amp you can park away from the road. The river is beautiful and cold and deep.
