Affordable and tasty! 
If you go to the New York place you are doing it wrong. You can get tastier food at the same price here. I love this option. They have deals posted at the entrance. 
Oh and it's set up differently! You order and pay at the window first then you have a seat. 
For the bento (tempura mix, raw tuna, spring rolls w/ miso soup and tea) I paid about 16 after tax and my sister paid 14 after tax for the teriyaki bowl and the potstickers.

Cheap and delicious. Two words a college student loves. You could the restaurant is kiku-ass. Hehe

The food is delicious and reminds me of my Grandmother's homemade meals. The atmosphere inside is calming and well decorated so that you feel you are in Japan.

I recommend their gyu don, katsu don, teriyaki don, japanese curry, tempura, their bentos, and their udon dishes. Most of these will be easy to eat for those who are trying Japanese for the first time. 

For those who like Inari sushi, their Inari (fried tofu wrapper with sushi rice) is more authentic and better flavored than the grocery store variety that tends to over sweeten.
