Story

Hair Cuts & Color are our passion but we also love to do Manicures, Pedicures, Acrylic Rock star & Gel Nails, Massage, Couples Massage, Waxing ,Threading, Facials.Hair extensions, & Lash extensions! We opened our doors in 1998, and continue to strive to have a professional environment for you to visit and enjoy. When you enter Kim & Co Salon our goal is for you to feel at home in a Comfortable, Welcoming and Friendly environment .We hope you will take a look for yourself. Our staff will also help you find the perfect product for your specific Hair, Skin Care & Makeup needs. We carry an array of Hair care including Sulfate free shampoos such as Enjoy, Paul Mitchel , & Kenra products We are proud to carry Dermalogica skin care & Glo Mineral Make-up. If we don't have what you're looking for we'll do our best to get it for you, customer service is our top priority as well as your comfort. We are an environmentally conscious salon and try to do our part by recycling and using air purifiers. We feel it is very important to give back and to be a part of the community. Our fundraiser "Night of Aloha" raised over $15,000.00 for Central Coast Funds for Children and every year we choose a family and with the help of our clients we are able to give them a memorable Christmas. I started going to Kim for my hair needs the summer before my wedding. She is AMAZING. I have never had such a good cut in my life. I have very thick straight hair but she was able to make it look wonderful with out a lot of styling after I left. She put beautiful highlights in it for me too and I always got exactly what I asked for. This is not a hair artist that takes liberties with your hair, you get what you ask for the first time! All of the staff is very friendly and accommodating as well. She did my hair and make-up for my wedding and I would not have had it any other way. I've gotta say I think I looked pretty awesome! One of the girls did my nails for my wedding as well, I had no idea what she did was even possible! I had no idea they could take straight glitter and do just the tips of my nails! I even got to pick three different glitters to mix together and she made them "fade" the way I wanted them to. Two of my bridesmaids had they're hair done for the wedding by two other stylists and they were very happy with the results as well. I would recommend them to any one!

I have been going to Kim & Company for many years and would never dream of changing salons. Why? No matter where I go, I receive compliments about my hair styles from the owner, Kim Brown. Strangers regularly compliment me, and by regularly, I mean after every single cut. Strangers have asked if they can take pictures of my hair in multiple cities, states, and countries. Here are two examples. Once in the late afternoon in Santa Barbara when I was sitting at an outdoor cafe sipping coffee, a group of women approached me and told me their goal for the day was to find a new hairstyle they liked and, hopefully, change stylists. They enthusiastically and unanimously voted mine as the hands-down favorite of the day. They were disappointed that Kim does not work in Santa Barbara, but took multiple photos to show their stylists. My second example occurred one day in a grocery store in San Luis Obispo. A woman stopped me and asked where I got my hair cut. I later found out that on her way home from the store, she stopped in at Kim & Company and set up her first appointment. My favorite part of this story? I had just worked out and had not styled my hair at all that day. I had just run my fingers through it after showering. It certainly wasn't looking its best right then. What a compliment to the quality of Kim's cut! It's not just women who compliment me; men appreciate my hair too. Quite a few men tell me they wish their wives would get hairstyles like mine. Beyond Kim's great styles, the staff is always friendly and the salon is a welcoming, relaxing, cozy respite from a stressful world. I've had multiple great massages and manicures and pedicures too. Kim runs a professional, quality salon. We are so lucky to have someone of her caliber in San Luis Obispo. I only wish I could give Kim & Company more than five stars!

This a great salon in a convenient location with easy free parking! I love my hair stylist Nicole. She has been cutting and coloring my hair for years and I am always satisfied with how my hair looks and always get compliments.

Kim Brown is one of the best and most concientious salon owner/operators in the business today. Kim takes extreme pride in her work and customer satisfaction. The salon environment is soothing and friendly. I have read a couple of the negative postings and I do not understand what may have happened with these individuals. I can only speak for myself to say that I plan to remain a loyal customer for many years to come. At Kim and Company Salon you will have a wonderful experience as do all who attend. I highly recommend this salon for all services: Hair, Nails, Massage, Facials...etc. etc. etc.
