I went in to browse since I've only recently moved into my home nearby & just wanted to talk to somebody who has experience with the local climate & soil, etc. before I made a plan for my backyard garden. The staff is friendly & knowledgeable, & there's an adorable selection of fountains, pots, & even some outdoor pillows & other miscellaneous decor. The plants available all looked healthy, they were well labeled, &  sorted intuitively. They also had a good selection of soil additives for nourishing your learn & potted plants. I highly recommend!

I used to live in Kingwood so I decided to stop one morning after dropping off my husband at the airport. I needed help buying a magnolia and a couple of other plants, and not being very familiar with planting and  fertilizing , I thought that at a smaller nursery I'd find more knowledgeable help to answer my questions. 
First, the two ladies at the cashier were too busy to show me where the magnolias were, pointing me in the wrong direction. Then a very nice and polite young guy could not find anybody in the back to help me, so he tried, unsuccessfully. I asked for spinach to plant, (what could be more common?), and the young guy went to ask and came back to tell me they didn't have it. Also, I found the prices in general expensive compared to similar nurseries inside the Loop.

Kingwood Garden Center has very friendly and helpful staff but they rip you off!  32 oz. of Captain Jack's deadbug spray by Bonide is priced at $34.99. Elsewhere  $14.87! 1 pint of
Monterey 70% Neem oil is priced at $26.99, elsewhere $12.67!
