Now branded a Super 8, the recently remodeled room was perfect for my overnight needs and I enjoyed my stay. Will definitely come back.

There was excellent service even though there were renavations in progress. WiFi was hard to connect to. The rooms over all were nice and met all expectations.

My experience rate is actually below one star. I did not get to be in a room because the hotel failed to disclose their pet fees and policies on their web site. I have two pets (a cat and dog). Upon my arrival and at check in, the desk clerk requested the additional fees. My objection is not about the fees but about the lack of disclosure by the hotel on their web site. There was plenty of information about other fees; but nothing about the rate for pets. I was unprepared financially to pay the additional fee so I could not check in. When I asked to cancel the reservation, the desk clerk stated I would still be charged for my entire stay (three nights) and they would not authorize any refund of my prepaid hotel rate. Immediately I contacted Expedia and explained what happened. The Expedia customer service representative contacted the hotel and was able to get them to charge me for one night. That was a fair resolution; but the hotel should have willingly made the same agreement with me that was made with Expedia. My recommendation is that all the travel search web sites remove Knights Inn Eau Claire, WI from their list of acceptable hotels/motels. Their unwillingness to accommodate a paid guest is inexcusable.
