Below is my original post. I do have to edit after my stay this time. I've noticed my bill is higher then what was quoted. Noticed this has been going on with my stays all year. What you bill make sure they charge you what your quoted.... Other then that its a good hotel and great for traveling with pets. ------------- Low cost and you get what you pay for. Great for travelers with pets. Staff was great. We had a few minor problems at check in but it was not staff fault it was due to a new computer system. The rest of the stay was great.

Room was good. Area was fine. Stayed 8 days. 3 days never made bed. No toilet paper for 2 days. Had to use Kleenex instead. Finally asked for it. So just house keeping issues.

The front door service staff was great. The housekeeping was terrible. Screen bent on one side, so could not keep open for air flow. Room smelled. Then around 1:30 am loud music played outside my room! Trying not to bother, I struggled trying to get back to sleep. To no avail, at 2:20 am I called front desk. At first he said he didn't hear anything. Fine, but the music was on the 'other side' of bldg. No problem, he still walked outside and told the guests to turn off music. 3:30... I had to call back, cause while the music was lower, it was still right outside my window. I asked to be moved into other room. No. None available. I said book me in other hotel then. He said he would go back out. He did. It stopped. Good. Then, I still had trouble going back to sleep, cause I was scared. Thought I might be retaliated against. It was all EXTREMELY disturbing! Maybe you can't control other guests, but I do not for a second believe there were NO other rooms available. Like I say... very disturbing.

The motel is pretty much what you expect at this economy price. Dirty carpets, limited TV viewing, bathroom is less than sparkling... however, it served its purpose for a night's rest before getting back on the road. I found no evidence of bed bugs, so that's a plus. The only real issue is getting into the property. The dirt road (construction) outside the motel is completely blocked off and you must detour away from getting onto the property. After several attempts to find a way 'in'... I eventually drove around the blockade onto the dirt road (illegally) and into the property. The city has done a bad job of placing the detour signs as they send you into a traffic circle and then the signs just end. Frustrating. The front desk clerk mentioned that although they were fully booked, at 10 pm, many guest had not arrived. I'm expecting they just stayed down the road where it was possible to drive onto the property.

The hot water was out because of nearby construction. I got the impression that their was little coordination between the construction crews and the local Motel 6 ownership/upper management. Or that the motel's management did not manage the information from the road crews very well. I got the impression that the upper management/owner left the other employees in the lurch to make due as best they could. The night manager tried his best to be diplomatic and actually act as a buffer between the clients (me) and those above him, though I wonder how deserving those above him are for such loyalty.
