Story

Silver Bullet is a western-themed steel inverted roller coaster designed by Bolliger & Mabillard located at Knott's Berry Farm, an amusement park in Buena Park, California. The $16 million roller coaster was announced on December 1, 2003 and opened on December 7, 2004. A first rider auction was also held where people would bid on seats to be the first riders. The track is approximately 3125ft long and the lift hill is about 146ft tall. The ride lasts two minutes and thirty seconds and features six inversions including a vertical loop, cobra roll, zero-g roll, and two corkscrews.HistoryOn May 28, 2003, a trademark for the name "Silver Bullet" was filed by Cedar Fair, the owners of the park. Construction for the new roller coaster began in September 2003 with the relocation of The Church of Reflections. As part of a $85 million investment in all Cedar Fair parks, Silver Bullet was announced to the public on December 1, 2003. The final piece of track was placed on September 30, 2004. On November 5, 2004, Knott's Berry Farm launched a "First Rider Auction" in which people from anywhere in the world would bid against each other in order to be one of the first public riders on Silver Bullet on December 7, 2004. Although sixty seats were made available, only 13 of these received bids. Out of those bids, the highest bid was $200 (US), and a total of $1643 was raised with all the money going to the Speech & Language Development Center of Buena Park. After construction and testing was completed, the roller coaster opened first to the media, then to the public on December 7, 2004 though the initial scheduled opening was on Christmas Eve of 2004. Silver Bullet was also one of four attractions that opened at Knott's Berry Farm in the same year and carries a western theme.

My family and I love visiting Knott's Berry Farm. Each season they decorate the park in a new way and add new live shows. The restaurant and food options are great, especially Mrs. Knott's kitchen with the huge portions of tasty chicken and traditional sides. Knott's offers a season pass that is a phenomenal value. We pay about $85 per family member and enjoy unlimited visits to the park all calendar year. This is far better, in my opinion, than other theme parks in the area that have complicated black out date schedules. If you haven't been to Knott's it is worth a visit and if you live local, get a season pass, it can be less expensive than two regular visits.

I love to come here on days in which I just want yo walk around and play a few games here and there. The food is okay. Definitely better than many other places. Best of all it's not packed with too many visitors like others parks near by. Yes some rides have long lines but there are many that don't have the long lines. The shops are also nice with great variety of products. I love that they offer many cooking items and kitchenware.

The park was amazing and we had lots of fun. If you have kids under the age of ten start off from Camp Snoopy and go to the Fiesta Village. There are more kiddie rides. We purchased the fun pix for $29.99 to take pictures around the park and ended up with 2 out 4 photos. There are 4 places around the park where you can take photos and most of the big rides. The other two places did not get added to our account, instead we got other people’s photos. Not worth it and it is waste of money. We purchased a single meal deal for $14.49 does not include drinks. We paid an extra $4 to $5 for drinks FYI. The food was good and I would definitely recommend the All day dining. Overall the park was so much fun and there was so much to do. We spent 7 hours and it was all worth it.

Knott's Berry Farm is a classic southern California theme park. I came here with my kids and we had a great time. Something that you have to consider before you go is how much it's going to cost. Sure the tickets are a certain price and you can check that on the website but please take into account food and Rental items that you might need. Figure about $100 a person for the day and you won't go wrong. That's the only reason I'm docking a star is because although the experience is great, if you're not planning on spending money after you get through the gates, you're not going to have a good time.

First time coming here and I have to say I had a good time. There's so much to do. From seeing a blacksmith, panning for gold, riding a 136 years old locomotive, horse carriage rides to thrill rides and shows. There really is something for everyone here. Ghost rider is my favorite ride. Its a wooden coaster that goes super fast and has some wild turns. The show at the Mystery Lodge had some cool effects and a great message. My only wish is that there were better food choices. But overall had a great time!
