On the plus side, the Tech showed up promptly when they said he would be there, within a pretty small window, which I appreciated. I was looking for Kolb to replace the cover on my roof for an attic fan, and the fan itself, if necessary. The Tech determined my existing fan did not need to be replaced, and offered to try a cover I already had to replace the missing cover. That was also good. However, the Tech was unable to do any work because the "roof was too steep". I'm no roofing expert but it doesn't seem very steep to me. I don't want anyone to do anything unsafe, but if you offer this product / service, you should be prepared to handle a variety of situations. Instead, I was told I would have to call "a roofer" to do the work. And worse, Kolb didn't have anyone to recommend who COULD do the work. So now my fan is still uncovered. If you know there are going to be cases where you can't complete the product you offer, you should at least have an arrangement with someone who can. One last thing, and maybe this is subjective, but the Tech was in no rush once he realized he wasn't going to complete the job. Kolb had explained ahead of time there was a fee for the first 30 minutes, then an additional fee for every 15 minute increment beyond. The Tech was pretty much done within 30-35 minutes, then took another 15-20 minutes (he was there for 50 minutes total) doing his write-up and preparing my bill. So where I felt I should have been paying for 30 minutes, certainly no more than 45, I got charged for a full hour and basically nothing to show for it. It left a bad taste in my mouth and I will not be a repeat customer. I would not recommend them for anyone looking for an attic fan.

DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. I'm not one to post many reviews, and I'm not one for hyperbole, but after my experience with KOLB Electric, I needed to warn others. While their work was 100% satisfactory in terms of execution, it was performed at an agreed-upon price illegally, and not made legal until I paid more money than what we had agreed. When shopping around for a company to use for an electric sign project, I got written quotes from several companies, and narrowed it down to KOLB Electric and Provident. Even though KOLB was the more expensive of the two, I chose to work with them because their ratings were higher. The job required a circuit to be run outside for an illuminated sign. In order to both run the circuit and to pull the sign permit needed later, an electrical permit was required. This was established prior to the work commencing, and both parties signed a quote with a set price. However, after the work was completed on the circuit, and the company we used to install the sign asked for the electrical permit, I was informed by KOLB that they had not pulled any electrical permit. KOLB Electric said that wasn't included in the quote -- but I agreed to the quoted price believing the work would be done legally. When I asked for the permit, they demanded an additional $200+ to pull the permit for work that should never have begun without it. My sign project was held up due to this, and in the end, because my business required the project to be complete, I had no choice but to pay what felt like ransom money to have my project become legal. Most concerning: why is a legitimate company doing electrical work without pulling the proper permits? Secondly, once it is brought to your attention that the work was not done legally, why would a legitimate company demand more money to make a job legal? I'm very disappointed, and I wish I had gone to Provident -- or really, any other company -- instead. Now that it's done, I can only hope this review keeps them from misleading someone else in the future.

Requested a commmercial quote here is my experience: Aug 23 Glenn came onsite for a quote replacing/repairing one light, today Sept 22 and I STILL don't have a proposal. I have called several times and no one can ever give me a proposal. Supposed to have it this past Tuesday (9/19) not here, supposed to be emailed yesterday (9/21)....no dice. Just called (9/22) to find out and guess what, have to wait for a call back. TERRIBLE!
