Honestly, I like the gym. It's never too too crowded. I do wonder about the lack of variety of cardio machines...they have machines in the VIP area that are not on the floor. I think the classes are great. The crowd is friendly. Childcare staff  is friendly and my child loves going. The staff aren't overly welcoming but certainly not rude or apathetic. My only real complaint is the shower and bathroom area. It is always dirty. Like dirty like theme park dirty and it doesn't matter the time of day. I hate when I forget to use the bathroom before I come. Other than that I would rate this location higher.

Weights are often left loaded on equipment. Free weights not returned to their rack and hard to find throughout the club.  Good staff. Locker room cleanliness is improving

The gym is like an other LA fitness visually.  A lot of machines and weights.  

However.    By far the worst la fitness I've been to.   

I get to the gym at 5 AM for opening. More than half the dumbbells are scattered around the gym. Most of the machines have weights on them not taking off and reracked.     Paper towel all over the place. Left on the machines, on the benches, on the floor. Empty water bottles and Gatorade bottles have fall over most of the workout area. Went to the gym on Tuesday and the same 1 gallon water bottle  was on the side of the dumbbells and today is Friday. People at the front desk has zero personality and are not friendly. I mentioned to them perhaps putting up signs for people to re-rack the weights and they told me there are signs all over.   I looked around I have not seen one sign. 

I really don't care about them not being personable. But at least do your job get on the people to clean up and re-rack their weights.  And if you're not going to do that it is management responsibility to re-rack.

 After frustration out about two weeks of this I have made three calls to the front desk. Each time I was told that they will have a manager get back to me. Rachel. The third time they told me they are personally putting it on her desk with a note with my name and number. I have never received a callback. 

Bottom line: are you still live in New Jersey and now I am in Georgia. Things are a lot less convenient. I would've left this gym in a heartbeat if I was back home and just went to a competing gym. Most likely New York sports club. But options here are very limited. 

So the best I guess I can do is leave this review. If you have an LA fitness closer to you or a nicer gym I suggest you use it.

Equipment is usually well maintained. Great group fitness classes, especially Step Aerobics with Lesa. Can be crowded during peak hours on weeknights. I've been a member for over 2 years and have no plans to go elsewhere.

I'm not sure what LA Fitness Laura is referring to but the equipment at this location is FAR from maintained. If I'm able to edit this post, I'll add pictures tomorrow as proof. The machines are DISGUSTINGLY filthy, never cleaned, and sweat droplets remain on them as well as underneath for months. Many of them are laden with rust. Start with the ellipticals upstairs. Rusty city. There is phelgm sitting in the water fountain from people spitting in it for days as it never gets cleaned.  Speaking of the water fountains, the water levels are so low you have to put your mouth on the filthy spout if you actually want any water. The women's restrooms are filled with bloody maxi pads and yet again RUSTY hinges all over the bathroom stalls. There are NEVER any paper towels to dry hands after washing them nor any soap despite my repeated requests at the front desk. The management is to blame, they're pathetic and useless. Kids run the front desk. This place is a joke. So that's what you get for $35/month. By the way, they have no towels, you have to bring your own. Showers are gross and smell AWFUL. The Sauna is a dump and falling apart.
