It's been years since we've been there. This is the Italian restaurant opened by the chef at the former Italian Villa in Arlington, which was one of our favorites until they closed. So many restaurants have changed since COVID. Not La Gondola. Still great service and great food. The garlic bread is so incredible. So much butter and garlic. Generous portions, beautiful presentation, huge variety, and incredible flavor profiles.
Amazing atmosphere for a family gathering. The food is delicious, perfect service and good pricing. You wont go wrong with the menu. Detailed and clear and dont forget to try their deserts. Its from a different level. Add it to your list now, thank me later
We love this restaurant. The wife and I have eaten here several times and this has become our "go to" for great Italian food. The wait staff is always excellent, attentive and polite. There is often a live musician playing in the bar area as an added bonus. The saltimbocca is excellent, the cocktails are great and do not skip the tiramisu. The only thing preventing a 5.o star review is the host stand experience. The staff don't greet immediately and always seem to be hurried and rush you.
I ordered to go for dinner. Calamari was pretty good, lightly battered and yummy. I got the Tortellini Alla Panna in garlic sauce… some of the pieces were still cold which was a letdown. The price on google doesn’t reflect the updated menu. I suggest looking on their website.
We found this place about a year ago on a recommendation. The first visit we were blown away, but it’s all about consistency so we came again a week later, fingers crossed that we had found a gem. Same experience from amazing food to fabulous, friendly service, to ambiance. We have come again and again, and I can say the consistency is there. The food is always delish, the music always great, the service always stellar. I can confidently bring family and friends here knowing they will love it. My recommendations are the Alfredo with mushrooms and prosciutto, the Griglio steak holy cow better than a steak house and DEFINITELY get the cheesecake. The Cheesecake Factory only wishes they made it like this.
Went with some good friends and had a very nice meal and evening. Bruschetta started off things with some of the wine. Lots to choose from. And everything sounded good. But tasted even better. The lentil soup was very flavorful and the French onion some of the best is what I heard. Chicken, Alfredo and Parmigiana some of the orders all did not disappoint. Service was great. And that garlic bread, fogetaboudit. Creme boule to finish was very smooth creamy and nice hard sugar shell. Will definitely be back.
We visited on Friday and the noise level is high. Food was not as expected. I ordered Forestiere chicken and my husband marsala. The forestiere was very decent but not the marsala.Food: 3/5
It was a busy night, but they were very accommodating. The service was great, and so was the meal. 2nd time, and will definitely be returning.Food: 5/5
Great Italian restaurant. The house Italian dressing on the salad was different but delicious. I had the chicken parmigiana with pasta...it was very good. Our waiter was on point the whole time - not so easy since we were a party of ten on a Friday evening. Give this place a try if you are in the area and like Italian.Food: 5/5
Please follow us on Facebook and Instagram at SNDTRAVELS & Eat Well Travel Often UPDATE 7.10.21 Couple of nights ago I took my two ladies to dinner here. It was Diane and my third time. We are so glad to have found this place in Mansfield. It has a very nice atmosphere, the service has been great and the food is fresh and a step above the usual mom and pop Italian restaurant. We started with mozzarella sticks that went so fast I almost didn't get a pic. I had the Rollatino chicken stuffed with Italian sausage and a brandy cream sauce that had some the most perfectly cooked chicken I've ever eaten. Mom had a salmon special grilled with the same cream sauce and Diane had the Pollo Limon. Everyone was happy. The only drawback for me was that we all shared a Creme Brule we were too full to each get one and it had added lemon flavor which I didn't care for but mom and Diane thought was great. So once again La Gondola comes highly recommended. Three thumbs-up . So we were watching travel video of Italy this afternoon and ,of course, got hungry for a good Italian meal. Never been to La Gondola but we had seen good reviews and it had a good menu so off to Mansfield we went. What we found was a real gem. Nice comfortable atmosphere with great service from Alejandra or the pretty Alex great for a date night. We first were treated to the garlic bread which was made from a crunchy Italian loaf cut into small slices. I love this so much better than the greasy thick garlic rolls some places serve. For $2.25 we added a large dish of dipping oil and balsamic with herbs. Very good combo. Our appetizer was calamari fritti with marinara sauce. The calamari was tender and the light breading was crunchy and flavored well. Diane had a salad with homemade Italian dressing that was really good. Thicker than the usual dressings you get it also had a great flavor combination. My starter was the cream of onion soup. Once again homemade it was not a heavy onion flavor but gentle and tasty. Diane had a trout special stuffed with seafood and a picatta sauce with fresh veggies and angle hair pasta. Cooked just right with a nice crunchy skin it was awesome. The veggies were good but just a little cool in the plate. I had the filet special which was Filet Mona Lisa. A filet topped with a puff pastry stuffed with crab and shrimp in a mushroom Marsala sauce along with the veggies and roasted potatoes. Thoroughly enjoyed every bite. Cooked perfectly. I sliced the potatoes and poured some of the dipping sauce over them and created a item they need to add to the menu . Overall it was just what we were hoping for and give it an enthusiastic two thumbs-up . Highly recommended.
