Loved how nice and friendly the servers were. The food and drinks were absolutely delicious! The portions were big. Can't wait to go back and try other menu items.
Worth the wait. We came in on a busy night right after a large group. There were two wonderful young women serving the entire place that made us feel welcome & apologized for any delays, even offering us a discount. The service was above & beyond. The food was tremendous, the restaurant was clean & so are the bathrooms. I had the carnitas plate & subbed in flour tortillas. It was some of the best carnitas in town. My wife ordered the Carne asada plate. Hers was equally impressive. Will definitely go back Wheelchair accessibility: Spacious interior
Walked-in and were greeted immediately with a smile. After looking at the menu all the options sounded great. Had a hard time deciding what to try, but we settle on the Huaraches. It proved to be a great choice. A thick oval grilled corn tortilla, topped with beans, Abobada steak, fresh lettuce, home-made tomatillo salsa, sour cream and finished with avocado salsa. The flavors were terrific and well balanced. This is a family owned restaurant. Sandra was our server - she was friendly, attentive and prompt. After she heard my friend was craving a taste of real Oaxacan mole, she brought him a taste of it, along with fresh hand-made tortillas. What a nice gesture. Looking at the food going out to other tables, everything looked AMAZING. We definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for authentic Mexican food.
So good! I really really enjoyed the molcajete with adobada. Juicy well-seasoned meat in a large molcajete mortar with grilled chorizo, nopales, onion, and chile. The other dishes that my party ordered caldo de mariscos, camaron pasta were nice too, but not as good as the molcajete! Friendly service, upbeat traditional music, and cute día de los muertos themed decor.
Best Carnitas this side of the border! Very authentic Mexican food! Several house-made hot sauces that will knock your socks off! Service was friendly and attentive from Anna...and then there's the handmade fresh corn tortillas when I say fresh I mean they're made to order! I even liked the beans...not your typical refried mush...kinda half whole pintos/half refries. Great lunch topped of with a Mexican Coke! I would have had one of Anna's special Agave wine 24% Margaritas but I had to get back on the road. It's a good thing this restaurant is not close to my home...I'd weigh 500lbs in no time! If you like authentic mainland Mexican food don't miss this place!
Without a doubt, the best Mexican food in the area. The food is very flavorful ,with a unique style, different from the multitude of other Mexican restaurants in Paso and Atascadero. The wait staff is always very friendly and professional. Very pleasant surroundings and comfortable seating. Parking: Parking on the street which is free for the first 2 hours.
Las Kalaveras first of all has an intriguing decor. Following iys name meaning skeleton, the dance with large paintings of iconic Day of the Dead images keeps you company. meanwhile the warm staff brings life to the restaurant. With regional cuisine offered stewed beef, among familiar treats flautas, are well cooked shrimp in appetizers and entrees. Our table explored the homemade salsa and hot chili oil. The later was great with Chipotle Cameron with corn and pasta-which had a nice freshness and yet very filling. the sauce on the wet mojado burrito was unique and may well bring us back.
Hot inside the restaurant. The beans were extremely runny, rice was old and hard and the carnitas were bland. The hand made Tortillas weren't bad though. The only reason I gave 2 stars instead of 1 is the wait staff was very friendly but need more help to serve customers. I should of gone with my first food choice.
The best place to enjoy real authentic Mexican food! You will be amazed on the flavor!
The food is outstanding, we split the flautas and it was more than enough. They also have 64 local wines on tap!
