I will never come back to this hotel. After the toilet in my room overflowed and I had to change rooms at 4am, the hotel charged me over $3,000 for damages they say I caused. The only explanation given was that the room was brand new and there was no issue with the last occupant. However, that is not proof that I caused it. The security staff was rude to me on top of that. I was already frustrated that I had to change rooms at 4am, and maybe could have acted better, but the security staff treated me like garbage and proceeded to blame me for the water damage. They clearly didn't like me on a personal level. Maybe it was because I was Asian. My frustration was not just because of the change in room at 4am and the water everywhere, but because I never got the room I reserved in the first place. I reserved a very nice suite and did not get any communications about it not being available until I checked in. I got a basic room that was not even close to what I had reserved. The hotel claimed that they were going to give me points equivalent to two nights stay, but that it would be for a basic room. Based on the conduct of the staff, I would not be surprised if they renege on this promise as well. I've stayed in many hotels like this and BY FAR this was my WORST experience.
I am currently staying in room 1021. I’ve been here since Tuesday. Today is Thursday every day from the day that I came in. I’m hearing drilling and banging early in the morning. I can’t even sleep. I make a complaint no one does nothing. This service is horrible. The policies are horrible. I locked myself out the room as I’m grabbing my room service food. They made me go all the way downstairs. Wait for security and then let me in my room. I mean this server just locked me out of the room when I got the food, this is crazy. Worst experience at the W ever don’t ever stay here.
The customer service here is top notch. There is so much staff and they are so attentive! I was floored with the willingness of staff to make my stay exceptional. The lobby and common grounds are beautiful. The rooms are very clean and the gym is great. I would absolutely recommend this hotel.Rooms: 4/5
We had the best time at this hotel. Everyone was very helpful and sweet. We had an amazing front desk staff member by the name of Michaela. Bar service and tender were great as well! A great rainy baby moon in Hollywood! Thanks Preston and Lara FreemanRooms: 5/5
The hotel itself is lovely and has a beautiful, newly renovated lobby and very clean rooms. The location is perfect, right off of Hollywood Blvd and next to the Metro for easy access to the city. The best part of the W Hollywood though is the concierge, Micaela! From the moment we stepped foot in the lobby she greeted us warmly and made us feel right at home. She has such a beautiful energy about her and went above and beyond for my dad and I. It made me so happy to scroll through other reviews who also noticed how great of a person Micaela is. I was already planning my next trip back to visit her from Philly before we were even checked out. Can't wait to go back in a few weeks!
Great hotel near everything. Good restaurants nearby. Under renovation but will become even better. The beds are low, but at least you won't get hurt rolling off the bed... Great views from the outdoor part of the temporary rooftop restaurant. The rooftop pool is also heated and has good views.
The reason for this 5-star review is Lorena housekeeper. I was on a business trip and brought my family along to the W. As luck would have it, my toddler threw up in the hall and in our room. Housekeeping was not only quick to respond, but Lorena went above and beyond. She brought us extra waters, apple juice, berries, and a bunny doll, which my child carries everywhere now. I did not expect this, but thank you Lorena for making a yucky situation much better! :-
We loved are stay at this nice, clean, and close to all the Hollywood attractions, hotel. Everyone at the hotel is kind and welcoming. Micaela, at the concierge desk, is a light hearted, helpful, and a fun person to talk to. Thelma and Lina, helped us too. The overall experience was amazing. Food at the breakfast buffet was great Rooms: Nice big and clean rooms.
This place is great- large and clean rooms, friendly and helpful staffs from both front desk and room cleaning. They would also help you open and close your car doors. I especially like how this hotel is tall and has a large sign, so you can locate it from a distance. There are still problems though, my room had a water issue in bathroom one day, while they offered to switch me into another room. Also the soundproof could be better- noise from rooftop could be heard from downstairs, and I can also occasionally hear noises from the hallway. But overall there aren’t much to complain about, I absolutely enjoy my stay here.
Very disappointed with my stay. The pool wasn't open and there was very loud drilling throughout the day from 8am and even at night 8.30pm - it felt like it was the room next to me. This wasn't mentioned at all on check-in or before arrival. When I mentioned to the manager he apologised for the noise and credited me with additional points but it's so loud I just didn't want to be in my room during the day and there was no chance in me being able to conduct work meetings with the noise. The aircon is also very noisy in the bedroom. I also had to contact reception when I checked in as the light bulb in the bathroom wasn't working. Also i was told to phone to collect the room service tray but the phone lines aren't working. Such a shame as the location is great and the bar and reception area are lovely. Wouldn't stay or recommend a stay here.
