Story

We’re a Belgian bakery and restaurant serving simple, wholesome and seasonal food. Le Pain Quotidien means “the daily bread” in French, and like our name suggests, we’re bakers at heart. Although our handmade, organic bread is how we got our start, we serve a variety of healthy options like organic coffee, pastries, eggs, tartines, soups, salads and desserts.

At Le Pain Quotidien, we believe that food should be simple, nourishing and delicious. That’s why we source ingredients that are local or organic whenever possible. We also believe in the importance of eating a healthy, plant-based diet, so you’ll find many vegetarian or vegan options on our menu.

Service is very laid-back, but the food - in particular, the bread - is delicious. Perfect for a quiet Sunday breakfast.

As other reviews have noted, this location seems understaffed. The food was decent and consistent to the other LPQ locations I've eaten at. However, I would like to give a shout-out to my waitress, Mamou B! The place was packed and she was responsible for a LOT of tables, yet I was greeted, given a menu, brought coffee, and served food all within 15 minutes. She was calm and collected, even though I could see she had so many people to take care of and not even a second to breathe. She has definitely earned my respect for being such a hard worker and I would visit this location again!

Good food but BEWARE of what you order! Everything is extra. For example, the children’s menu includes a juice. My kids ordered a lemonade (lemon juice) but that was extra. When they said “juice included” they meant only apple or orange juice. That was never explained to us prior to ordering. We also ordered children’s waffles, and we were charge the adults waffle price! The penny (dollar) pinching is pathetic. Their explanation was that lemonade is not a “juice”. It’s a lemon juice , my God! My advice: when ordering be VERY specific as to what you want and what everything costs. I have noticed the same scams in all NYC restaurants lately. Good food, not so good prices or mischarging schemes. An $80 breakfast is quite ridiculous for two adults and two children. CAVEAT EMPTOR!
