Story

We’re a Belgian bakery and restaurant serving simple, wholesome and seasonal food. Le Pain Quotidien means “the daily bread” in French, and like our name suggests, we’re bakers at heart. Although our handmade, organic bread is how we got our start, we serve a variety of healthy options like organic coffee, pastries, eggs, tartines, soups, salads and desserts.

At Le Pain Quotidien, we believe that food should be simple, nourishing and delicious. That’s why we source ingredients that are local or organic whenever possible. We also believe in the importance of eating a healthy, plant-based diet, so you’ll find many vegetarian or vegan options on our menu.

I stopped in for a quick lunch. The food was very good and the service was friendly. The jams, chocolate and other spreads on the table are excellent, and a perfect compliment to the bread.

Do you like bread? I do. This place has bread in the name (in French)! Great servers, consistent product. Do it.

Food is good. Coffee there is our favorite. Expensive food and coffee but good! Only problem is the wait time during breakfast and brunch time. Once we waited for our food for almost an hour then we left after we paid for our coffee only.

I've been to PQs in other cities, this is by far the best! It feels more like a local, indie coffee shop than a chain. Great food, great coffee! Gluten free bread is some of the best, delivered each day from their D.C. bakery. Avocado toast, quiche, granola, egg dishes are all outstanding. And...you can get a beer, glass of wine or mimosa with brunch!
